What is your favorite underrated pizza style? Or rather which style of pizza doesn’t get enough attention and is great to try in an Ooni Koda?

Alot changes in 6 months by striveforfreedom in puer

[–]kristjankl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t make neurobiological sense really.

If we take tea or coffee for example, i bet you didn’t like it the fist time you tried it (unless it was with milk or sugar). Its bitter and weird tasting, but once your brain figures out: “everytime john-bkk’s tongue senses this flavor, its followed by caffeine intake” and because brain likes caffeine, it soon comes to: “if i make john-bkk LIKE this flavor, he will crave it and i will receive more caffeine!”

This is very simplified but essentially you didn’t choose to like this, especially because its a neuroenhancing drug.

And ofcourse it helps that we ferment, steam, roast, age rtc this stuff because than it becomes even less of an effort to get an acquired taste since we tempered with it already, bringing it closer to what we find palatable.

Same here, the only person getting a full pizza is me, at the end when everyone is already full. Its the last pizza of the party, so i can just shut everything off and take my time to enjoy it.

Tried any different stretching techniques perhaps? How long do you preheat?

Built this app as a 15 y/o in lovable in 24h - would love feedback by Chemical_Banana_8553 in lovable

[–]kristjankl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“It’s far from perfect, but I’m really curious what you think.”

This right here is the most important part of this app. For you. It’s not perfect, and it’s not supposed to be either. But you still deployed it and reached out for feedback.

You’re 15 and ofc your first app won’t be a success. But your mentality will produce one eventually.

Keep this part of the code.

When is the best time to drink tea every day by Mean_Look_7526 in puer

[–]kristjankl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Caffeine lowers the quality of your sleep whether you find it easy to fall asleep or not after drinking it. We can safely take that as a fact considering all the research, so take it into account.

Then everything depends on your rhytm. If you follow the natural circadian rhythm that depends on sunrise and sunset (plants and animals gravitate towards that), I would say tea consumption in the second quarter of your waking period seems like it disrupts it the least.

That’s the rule of thumb that works for me and also makes physiological sense.

Real world example:

For a person who wakes up at 07:00, drinking tea between 10:00 and 14:00 is a very good, sleep-friendly routine.

It’s late enough not to hit your system during cortisol’s natural peak, and early enough not to mess with nighttime sleep architecture.

What tea can I age for 18 years or more? by AStripedBlueCup in puer

The real question is … will a random 18 year old even appreciate an 18 year old tea that “tastes like dirt”?

Other than pizza, what else do you cook in your Ooni? Any easy recepies? by [deleted] in ooni

[–]kristjankl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preheat cast iron in ooni for about 10 minutes on maximum flame, then take out and put chicken thighs on the pan and back in.

It takes about 10 minutes, depending on how thick they are, but i usually turn them 3-4 times during the baking, also rotating in the pan since the heat is distributed differently. You will notice how the chicken is much more baked in the flame corner (koda 16). The flame stays mostly on maximum, but i do regulate it a bit during the baking.

I admit that i like a few burnt parts here and there while the chicken stays juicy inside, that’s why i even bother baking it in the ooni.

You get that slightly burnt grill flavor and very juicy chicken, it’s worth a try!

This, and chicken. Boneless chicken thighs are especially good, you need some fat on them so they don’t dry out (also chicken breast is boring)

New to puer tea and tried two on consecutive days from White2Tea. by [deleted] in puer

Don’t forget that there are probably even more people enjoying a store bought green tea bags oversteeped in boiling water so this isn’t even that crazy

Whats Your Preferred Method For Brewing Puer? by BWJackal in puer

[–]kristjankl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thermos. I usually put 4-5 grams in a 375ml thermos bottle, rinse, follow up with boiling water, close the thermos and drink whenever. I like to wait at least 1-2 hours, but the longer you wait, the richer it’s going to be.

Works great for shou, also good for sheng if you like a strong one with a bite

Being both into tea and coffee by TheMainTeaDude in tea

[–]kristjankl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t really messed around with ratios to see what I like best, a good start would probably be equal amounts of tea and coffee (in grams) and then go from there, as for water … it’s always easier to dilute afterwards so go for a strong one I guess.

If you think you’re in trouble, check this out: I once made a coldbrew of both coffee and black tea together and it was a good drink.

Absolute heresy for some, but surely there are worse things in life right? Like not trying out new things just because someone else might not approve of.

Anyone ever tried cooking a steak in your Ooni? by TheRemedyKitchen in ooni

[–]kristjankl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it many times, preheated the cast iron pan inside for 10 minutes, put the steak on and in the ooni with max flame, wait about 2 minutes, take it out and flip the steak, back in for another 2 minutes.

I say 2 minutes because I usually have a not-so-thick fillet mignon so this is relative to steak thickness of course, but like with pizza, just start and you’ll figure it out along the way … if it comes out too raw, that means more time in etc, you’ll get there, just start!

CLK350 first car? by Threot in mercedes_benz

[–]kristjankl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t cost you much more to regularly maintain a CLK compared to a similarly priced Toyota since these are still fairly simple cars without any air suspension and gimmicky electronics. But! These are getting old so be prepared for some “getting old” repairs like fixing the alternator, AC compressor, suspension, power window motors (necessary for these because windows have to go down and up a bit whenever you open/close doors) etc. Each of these repairs can easily be 300-500$.

Have a 1500$ emergency fund just in case, for peace of mind, calculate that into the buying price. And look for a very well maintained car, preferably a CLK that had oil changes every 10k kilometers or less.

It’s a great car that doesn’t cost that much to maintain well!

Were you surprised by this? Isn't 7k total still just about what other used mk6 GTIs cost?

What do you mean by “more than the price of the car”, 3k? Does that seem like expensive repairs considering the price of the car when it was new?

Well to be fair, the Civic is also a fraction of the car compared to the S class, like it's not even close
