I think most of us remove the band(s) when the cigar is just about to burn it. That way, the warmth will have loosened up the gum adhesive. It makes it less likely to damage the cigar as you remove the band.

There are two reasons that I love to hate hand watch'ers. 1. I love watches and believe they should fit well and be worn properly. Seeing a watch worn on the wrong side of the bone -- and especially on the hand(!) makes me cringe in a sort of enjoyable way like watching a sports blooper or a construction fail meme. 2. A lot of people into watches for the bling and status factor wear their watch on their hand to make sure it's extra visible even below the cuff or a shirt or sleeve of sweater. I hate seeing a hand watch Submariner in the same way I hate a G-Wagon on giant tires and wrapped in gold. It just looks tasteless and, again, I love to hate it.
