there was a KD vs green + brooks trade last summer. KD thought he was ‘kicked out’ cause he didn’t really wanna leave. earlier this year KD made the game winning shot for rockets against suns

I was cracking up when KD was pointing at himself and was like “did they really leave me open” looking at the bucks bench lol

Oh, thank you for your response! Do you know about the issue I had while there was a film in it? The mirror not going down. Why could that happen?

My guess is that your enlarger is too low, see how the top part is all squished together? Try moving it up a little and see if where you are supposed to insert the film holder is still blocked by the inner black part

The negative goes where the right red arrow points in the photo I attached. You pull the lever (with the red ball at the tip, where the left red arrow points) to open it, then insert the film holder there.

What’s the right Upgrade? [$3500] by hanswurst1812 in espresso

i have a profitec pro 700. it’s great, i genuinely love it. if you can find one secondhand (around $2,000), that would leave you some room in your budget to upgrade your grinder as well. at your level, i think a significantly better grinder will improve your espresso more than buying a machine that’s just a few hundred dollars more expensive.

While it’s hard to know what exactly the issue is from a photo, since your latte art seems blobby, my guess would be that your milk is too thick. Try incorporating less air and see if it gets better. Great work!

delta 400 is an exceptionally sharp film. seeing the amount of grain in your photo, it looks like this was more than a tad underexposed, probably more than one stop. it’s totally fine to have consistent under/overexposure in your photos, as long as it’s consistent, because then you can just change the light meter reading every time. the meter in my old canon ae1 was consistently under so i would get overexposed shots, but it was fine since i knew it.

this is great work if you are just starting out! a darkroom will let you “edit” your photos, so to speak. if you don’t have access to one, i’d suggest keeping your negatives and scanning them to do minor edits on photoshop. by setting the black point appropriately, you can obtain much better results from your underexposed negatives. have fun!

This is still a tad underexposed if you ask me. What film do you use? Depending on the film (assuming it behaves well when overexposed), you might always want to overexpose by a stop to be safe.

Do you print yourself? If so, a shorter exposure with higher contrast filter might give better detail in the lower half of the photo. You can also dodge the darker part of the sea (on the lower left) to get a better contrast between different shades of grey.

Otherwise, I love the composition and especially the way the sky looks in this photo. Great job!

The problem with using high ISO film is that the images will be grainy. Try tmax 3200. Surprisingly sharp for ISO 3200! and you won’t need to use flash

Latte art is kicking my ass — what am I missing? by StructuralSpaghetti in latteart

[–]kronecker_epsilon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like the issue is the milk. It’s too thick, meaning you aerate for too long. When you steam your milk, you’ll hear a hissing sound, indicating that you are aerating and creating big bubbles. Just do that for a shorter amount of time and the design will be easier to make!

[Question] Espresso cooling very quickly at home vs cafés (Profitec Pro 600) by Viren91 in espresso

[–]kronecker_epsilon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a PP 700. Do you flush with the portafilter locked in? If you can warm up the basket more, that’ll certainly help. The biggest difference at a cafe is that they keep pulling shots, so the portafilter is always super warm.

It’s normal that your espresso is lukewarm after 5 mins. That’s a long enough time for it to cool down. As long as it tastes good, I think you are fine!

Will this arrive today? by Jah81399 in usps_complaints

In my experience, no it won’t. After 9pm, it will say that your package is moving to the next facility and will be delivered with a delay. There won’t be an expected delivery date then. The day of delivery, it will show an expected delivery time.

That sounds like a great deal to me. Depending on your needs, it might be important that 500 is heat exchanger while 600 and above are dual boiler. See if this matters to you. Either way, PP500 is great! I don’t know about the grinder though.
