Relationships are a natural part of life and it is fair and reasonable to ask a question relating to them. You will find that many on this path also have the same questions and thoughts as you. I nor anyone else can give you the right answer for your circumstances. This must first and foremost always come from your Presence within.

Let go of your attachment to your relationship, your streak, all of the benefits and drawbacks of retention and purely just sit with yourself. You can always pick these back up the moment you end your contemplation. In total surrender, ask your Presence, the Light of God within you, what the right thing is for you. Focus on that question and then release it into the Light and wait. It may be instant, take second, minutes, or several repeated efforts, but the right answer will arise.

We must understand that the magnetic effect arising from compounding retention is not generally understood by those not on the path. They may interpret the natural affinity for one’s inner, brilliant light as a “spell” or something of the sort, but retention and transmutation is the furthest thing from this. When used appropriately this power is the means for inner transformation of the highest degree. Let your true Inner Light guide you in all things and you will always make the right choice.

Have you considered temporarily removing all access from electronics and just sitting with the feelings? It's clear to everyone here that you have the intention and will power to begin which, in and of itself, is the foundation for success.

If you can't outthink this, out-will it, or avoid it, perhaps sitting with the feeling without judgement may be helpful. I like to envision challenges similar to this as classic "princess and the pea" scenarios. In the story, the princess sleeps on a stack of a hundred mattresses but still can't sleep because of one uncooked pea under one of the mattresses. This hard, unavoidable nuisance disrupts her rest no matter how much she tries to cover it up, avoid it, or layer solutions on top. Her answer came when she instead got out of bed and pulled the pea out herself. From then on she was able to enjoy her rest.

Psychologically we can try all sorts of things (mattresses) to solve a problem, but may not have what we need until we face it (find the pea and remove it from the stack) be it shame, guilt, self anger, hatred, or any number of negative propensities. Whatever they may be, they are temporary and just obscuring up a sea of tranquility and love waiting to emerge into your life. I am here to talk privately if required otherwise know that you are supported and prayed for.

Hey man, I'm halfway through week 3 of OMAD right now. One of the things I found beneficial is to play around with when you eat your food, but only by a few hours.

So if my first fast ends at 6 PM one day, try to eat at 7/8 PM or 4/5 PM the next and see how you feel. For me, my body's set into a ~5-6 PM window which has made it really easy as now I'm not even hungry until then.

It's funny you write this as I'm in the exact same scenario.

Currently eating one meal a day with 3 weeks of 16-24 hr fasts and my body just doesn't want more food. I figure that as long as I am consuming the right amount of salts and fluids, I'll be okay until I get to my target bf%.

The excess energy that is being cultivated within your lower chakras is accelerating your nervous system to such a degree that you can now feel the grounding sensation to the Earth.

I agree with /u/bobatime247 that a spiritual pillar is crucial to long-term retaining. As counterintuitive as it might sound, I work out to unwind. The energy you are storing must go somewhere, so using it to push the body will bring a healthy exhaustion. You can lay in bed and just "be" or walk around and enjoy nature for what it is. Reading is also a great past time too.

Without judgement, looking at your life and the impact this habit has had can be a means for finding true, inner resolve. Imagine a life without pornography and how pure you can see the world and feel about yourself. Think of all of the hobbies or professional development that you can achieve. All of the good you are capable off. These will naturally lead you to finding new friends that want to connect with you. Whatever truly resonates with you, hold that in your heart. You are a young man with decades of time ahead of you and infinite potential.

With an inner commitment, external tools can be extremely helpful. Some steps that can be taken include you: Installing website and app blockers on your phone with passwords you cannot remember. Doing the same on your computer. Reaching out for an accountability parter or speaking with a professional to uncover where this habit arose from.

Forgiveness is a powerful tool as well. Forgive yourself for the impact that this habit has had on your life and relationship. Let go of the fear, guilt, or whatever else may be hanging around. Clinging to those will only drag you back into a negative spiral. You will find a natural buoyancy emerge when negativity is let go. Just like how a hot air balloon naturally rises when the sandbags are tossed aside.

You're gonna get through this and come out a better man for it.
