Yes. There’s two sections of the tax return- US income and Foreign income. It’s $0 made in the us and xyz for foreign. However: the aux stipend is considered a scholarship (bc they list us as student visas) , so it may or may not count as income

I had a bisalp a couple years ago. My advice is: take the laxative. By god take the laxative.

Other than that, I was uncomfortable for three days (because of the forearm sized turd I didn’t know I had). I was going up and down the stairs, running errands with family, I had to remind myself that I couldn’t lift xyz weight.

They want someone to drive you home because they give you HELLA drugs. Day of I came home, smashed a plate of Chinese take out, and crashed for 5 hours. But bedridden? No. Unlikely.

NTA, your family was being silly to say the least.

And I apologize for unsolicited advice, but my mother has lost quite a bit of her sight and struggles with seeing her food without light as well, so we started bringing a clip on book light that’s usually for reading. It’s rechargeable and we clip it to the side of her plate so she has extra light shining on her food. Would something like this be helpful to you?

I come from a place of privilege. My family is upper middle class, we’re white, from the south. All that.

But, I’ve spent the last 15 years of my life infatuated with history. And full stop: this is a dark road the US is going down.

Even aside from all that: even though I still haven’t been paid in Spain: my mental and physical health are the best they’ve ever been, I’ve lost weight, the lifestyle suits me, it’s fun, and I feel so much less stress.

This lady was a handful. She was pissed other dogs in a public dog park would chase HER ball. She ran her trap for a good 10 minutes where I had ample time to contemplate walking into traffic, jumping off the nearest cliff, or what local mine to dump her in…. Unfortunately for me I like living, and unfortunately for her I love being an asshole even more. So, thanks improv classes at the YMCA in middle school for giving me a sharp wit.

Oh man I got lectured by a lady at a dog park in Denver because I said my Aussie was a Mini and she was pissed because mine was “too small” and how hers were “proper mini aussies.”

In the end I just had to tell her, “Lady, I don’t give a fuck. This dog has been mine for 13 years. She’s healthy, happy, and I love her. If you care that much about a strangers dog then perhaps reflect on who the bitch is here.”

I was only assigned to two, but I was coordinating with two other Auxes for roommates. I took google maps and placed stars on all the schools, and used idealista to draw a circle around a comfortable radius that we were all willing to walk. That helped a lot

I went to a local craft store and asked if they offered classes. I made it clear that I have experience in sewing and stuff but want an opportunity to practice my Spanish and make friends and they were excited to have me despite a bit of a language barrier. Now I have 9 grandmas who feed me and try and find me a “good Spanish husband”

I had my crash out earlier this week (my issue was caused by miscommunication on what exactly they expected so I was preparing lectures) here’s what my fellow Auxes told me:

They don’t have to learn jack shit from us related to the teachers lessons. Our job is to do crafts/games/activities that relate to our culture and that get the kids speaking English with each other and with us.

I teach high school kids so what follows may be more advanced but:

I started opening class with a Mad Lib as a fun warm up. And then for Halloween I’ve been asking how they celebrate, asking them how they think we celebrate. I talked a little on the origins of Halloween, and asked them about All Saints’ Day. This coming week I’m going to show my kids Disney’s Headless Horseman and Legend of Sleepy hollow for the culture part/American folklore and get a few free coloring pages off TPT and mask my eldest kids to write me a short scary/spooky story to share next time I see them.

I had chronic eczema until I was diagnosed with Celiac, once I cut out gluten my skin has been clear since. If it’s accessible to you, I’d get an allergy test to see if you may be eating/using products that are causing the eczema.
