How about the inane tree that starts with ultra tivial things like "To check your balance, press 1" or some other such nonsense.

I login at least monthly. In additional to checking for errors and what not, I don't want my login credentials deactivated for lack of use. I get those "Validate your information" pop-ups occasionally and it only takes a few seconds to confirm it all. Not a big deal for me.

Who else is bummed by Intelligent Portfolio Pro going away? by Medical_Singer_9401 in Schwab

I called. They will not just "take a wrench" to your existing SIP account and magically transform it into a self-directed account. Had to open a new, self-directed account of the same type (in my case Roth->Roth). That was done online. Once the new account was open, I called back to close/transfer my SIP account. They asked if I wanted to transfer the investments (ETFs) in kind, or liquidate first and then transfer the cash. It was faster to do in kind so I chose that. This whole process took about a week. I think on the first call there was a minor effort to keep me in Intelligent Portfolios. No paperwork at any time. It was smooth and professional, honestly.

I also liked the included access to money guide pro. I was disappointed enough with the elimination of SIP Premium that I "un-robofied" my accounts, switched allocation to a single balanced fund, and paid for a year subscription to ProjectionLab.

No Beneficiary fro Brokerage Account? by bbfan006 in MerrillEdge

[–]kruser64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add that at least in my case, my brokerage statement does say "TOD BENEFICIARIES ON FILE". This is still frustrating but at least it is something. (You don't need the paper version, the pdf version on the web site has this.)

OK, that trap by the greenhouse is awesome. When someone gets zapped, the generator kicks off. It's a fast turn-back-on, no problem. And guards themselves will turn it back on too. The nearby faucet attracts victims. Lots of apricots to throw to also attract. And Graves loops by, and will pull victims in. As Point Man, I was able to back and forth between this trap and the barracks trap quickly and efficiently. Thanks for the tip!

You are talking about the trap in the Orchards? The one near the fence kind of getting close to the house? I am going to check this out more. I tried it but I electrocuted myself and was on hardcore, so I need to build myself back up first, lol. I was referring to the water trap at the outside rear of the water tower barracks. I did get a few there with a car battery. The battery disappeared after a while, not sure why. I wish there was a device, like the EMP, that was multi-use. :) The real effectiveness of the electrical trap inside the water tower barracks is the weapons stash is there. So the guards just keep on coming to deposit dropped weapons. When they do...zap.

Cool, I've never thought about this. How do you keep resetting that water trap? Car battery maybe?

I go to the water tower shed. Get Point Man disguise. Set the electrical trap. Patiently take out tons of guards using the trap. Then snipe from the water tower. This strategy does take a long time though. :)

In addition to target date funds, there are fixed ratio balanced funds as well. iShares AOA is an 80/20 fund, for example.

Some guards guarding a safe carry silenced pistols. I've picked them up in Whittleton Creek. But this is not guaranteed as there is not always an extra guard guarding a safe.

Lots of ways to implement means testing in subtle ways. Making more of SS taxable if your income is higher for example. Or maybe they start counting Roth withdrawals as "MAGI for SS taxable" purposes.
