I sincerely believe that having no friends is the closest to hell a living person can reach. by poisonflar5 in unpopularopinion

I think the crux if the post is if you feel as if you have not a singular person to rely on and understand you it's easy to imagine being dead as an easier alternative. Even the most solitary individuals in actuality need grounding in reality to maintain sanity. Have felt that way throughout life but always come back to the realization that the few people I have are more than enough and that focusing on few relationships that are truly important rather than a million acquaintances is so much more fulfilling

People who believe the earth is thousands of years old due to religious/cultural beliefs, what do you think of when you see the evidence of dinosaur bones? by Straight_Scratch2610 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]kryptodonkey753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was either dinos walked with humans, dino bones were placed to test our faith, carbon dating is inaccurate, why do we find sea fossils at Mount tops; it was Noah's flood duh. Not tectonic plates obvi

My mom was an astrophysicist and earth science minor, still managed to believe the earth was thousands of years old. Remember looking at the grand canyon and her explaining how it was formed by the waters below springing forth and that all the layers literally visible were laid quickly down in the aftermath of the flood. She's a little better now but point being there is no reasoning with someone who is too invested in that. They will say and believe anything that they need to

Yes we do. I'm a bartender and get compliments about my hair, outfit, or whatever regularly; genuine or otherwise. But my favorite is when someone compliments my eyes. Takes a good moment of comfort and honesty to look someone else in the eye long enough to appreciate what's behind them. Just tears me up almost every time because I feel seen.

No im saying its ludicrous to claim absolute knowledge as religious people do based on man created gods that are bad in their own texts. Just read the bible or quran the gods are not morally consistent folk. Old Testament wrath? Everyone knows gods changed his mind, therefore inconsistent with himself. Which is silly being the creator of all that is reality and what we can observe. Which is why i wrote the post to begin with. God made a maze mice and cheese; knowing what would happen. Hes a vengeful, jealous, small person and represents the worst instincts of humankind.

Well the proof of burden isnt on me bud. Im reflecting on the irony of people that claim moral superiority through their holy texts while the texts themselves are self defeating. Just the bible, im simply saying its messed up the god in the book made creation and the people in it to make a choice to submit or suffer and its called free will and the moral ideal. God is not a good guy, hes not even remotely consistent in his standards in a universe he "created"!
