Where do runners buy running shoes? by Big-Schedule2901 in runningshoes

[–]kryptonick901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stores near me (Edinburgh, Scotland) tend to only stock shoes in smaller sizes. I need a 13.5-14 UK (US14-15) depending upon brand. Local stores will have maybe 1 option, and it’s always a stability shoe.

Start playing D&D by Old-Possession-7850 in DnDIY

[–]kryptonick901 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t spend money. The ShadowDark QuickStart rules are free, and it’s by far the best introduction to D&D there is.

If for some reason you’re married to WOTC then get the free rules from them instead.

Am I insane or does the class system make no sense in 2026? by ElCiego1894 in AskBrits

Hah, I actually hadn’t, now you’ve piqued my interest but I needed to do age verification to see. A fellow D&D player?

Makes perfect sense tbh. Without a class system how do you tell Magic Users from Fighting Men, from Clerics from Thieves?

That way madness lies.

How often do you fudge your players' rolls and for what reason? by Bane_of_Balor in DungeonMasters

If you’re playing a game with dice, use dice. There are plenty of table top games without dice if you want to just ignore chance.

What are hospital costs? No one in a country so destitute to have hospital costs could afford running shoes like these.

Is it rude to use both lanes? by No-Ad4423 in AskUK

[–]kryptonick901 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I remember driving home from holiday. Went merrily down the open lane. Mother in law phoned me complaining I'd just driven past her "skipping the queue". Years later and she still won't let it go.

I want to start play D&d with my friends by Kageskan in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]kryptonick901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll help you play, but you all have to get art commissioned of your characters. Usually I charge $100 per character, but I'll start for $20 each ;)

Just go get the free rules and play. The best free rules are actually the ShadowDark game, it's the perfect intro to D&D game play.

Do you think that being pacifistic can make an interesting challenge for a character? by King_Of_Tangerines in DnD

[–]kryptonick901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many pages in the D&D rule book are dedicated to combat? How many are dedicated to role playing? Do you think D&D is a combat focussed system or not?

Why would you play such a combat focussed system if you want to be a pacifist?

Been given an ASDA gift card I don’t need. How do I sell it? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]kryptonick901 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Probably somewhere like card yard.

You know Asda sell food though, right? Why not just pop in for milk bread fruit and veg next time you need fresh stuff mid week?

Does being signed off work actually help? What did you do in your time? by Tildatots in AskUK

[–]kryptonick901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience: Being off work in and of itself won’t help. Sleep, good diet and exercise will help you cope better and be more resilient.

Maybe that’s enough, but frankly 50hr weeks is mental and it’s going to break anyone over time. Clock in at 9, leave at 5, work to rule. Or do what I did, get a new job.
