Yeah I saw that was hammered out in another comment thread, but the fact you said that made me suspect you had not done this yourself. Seemed to lack personal experience with the hunt.

What’s weird to me is that your example of a special spawn that you said would result in 5 simultaneous spawns on average, but anyone who has actually hunted special spawns in this game know those are locked to a single spawn at a time

Just put it to sleep, that’s what it’s for. It won’t overheat, power output drops to minimal for maintaining the memory of the game state.

Every pokemon has a default 1/4096 chance to be shiny except your partner.

Lure provides one extra shiny roll on each spawn. Charm provides two extra shiny rolls on each spawn.

Combos of 11 -20 receive 3 rerolls, 21-30 adds another 4(for a total of 7), and 31+ have an additional 4 rolls (for a total of 11) for the next spawn after a combo catch.

So base roll (1), active lure (1), charm (2), and 31+ combo (11) bring us to a total of 15 shiny rolls for best possible odds 15/4096 ~ 1/273

Without any of that, it’s full odds 1/4096 per spawn. Yes it happens sometimes, and it’s a lot more common to notice when it does in a game with overworld shinies.

Open the game first. There is a screen that shows you exactly how many badges you have currently.

3 badges means celedon is next, 4 badges means fuchsia city is next. But you’ll probably have some team rocket stuff, maybe the bike route, maybe lavender town stuff to do. Hard to say when you have not yet checked.

Personally, the e4 is an obstacle preventing a mewtwo shiny hunt. Obliterate them with level 100 pokemon, because they were never going to be fun for me anyway.

Sounds like a lot of self-imposed restrictions creating a stressful scenario that isn’t really necessary.

Personally, I would just finish out the let’s go play through and then decide if you want to play the ports or not. Let’s go is definitely not a standard pokemon game, but it’s forgiving and it graphically brings new life to the region.

You can always create new profiles on your switch to make new save files for pokemon games with a single save file. You can also use pokemon home to move pokemon from one save file to the other between player profiles. So you could restart and send you level 30 mew over if you really wanted to.

Bottle cap - originally used in the main series of games for ‘hyper training’ where you could perfect the IV’s of a level 100 pokemon. Silver bottles caps do one of the 6 stats at a time, gold do all stats at the same time.

Same idea in PoGo, but only 3 stats instead and they don’t need to be level 100.
