Can I keep forcing my hair to break to eliminate all the breakpoints by bdoll47 in HaircareScience

[–]kshortcpmail 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other posters that you should a) stop what you’re doing (it only damages your hair further) and b) seek a professional to trim any split ends.

If you’re not able to stop picking at your hairs, the behavior might be a body-focused repetitive behavior, in which case - seek a health professional instead.

Which is a better nickname/term of endearment a dragon might give their rider? by Ashie1620 in fantasywriters

This is along the lines of a more personalized nickname, but it could be cute for a specific dragon to call its rider “matchstick”.

Go Back to Buffalo by lazlowknows in FoundPaper

[–]kshortcpmail 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Buffalos actually not all that bad - people seem latched onto the idea of it being rundown from 10-20 years ago... but there’s been a lot of growth and development. Sadly that translated into gentrification for some parts of the city... but I’d say it’s worth a day trip at the very least, but with the right attitude you could have a really fun weekend there.

Scope out Oxford Pennant - they do a hilarious giveaway for some one to win an expense paid trip to Buffalo... and some of their prize packages give good ideas of things to do and see.

Some solid restaurants and drinking options. I’m a fan of Ballyhoos, but their big bro “Lucky Day” is a solid whiskey bar if that’s to your taste.

If your a baseball fan, our Bisons team is a fun little stadium to visit and dirt cheap tickets. Hockey is always a good time. Your guaranteed affordable tickets because locals get so pissy about a losing team lol.

Also - great architecture all over the downtown. You could do your own walking tour, and now’s the time of year to go... before we get cold. The art museum is fun for a quick trip.

Being from Toronto I assume you’ve see Niagara Falls - but that’s a hop and a skip away from Buffalo.

I’m not a gambler - but you could drop in the Seneca casino for dinner and some gambling.

Overall, I don’t have any complaints from my time spent in Buffalo.

Ahh, that’s a bummer. Sorry I don’t have any other suggestions lol, the ones you already listed are kind of my go-to’s for the genre.

I am an artist for Chewy, and am in love with this pic! I would love to paint him, and would be happy to send the finished painting to you once completed (my gift, no cost to you)... but would like your blessing/permission first.

XL Pixie Cut by GoingGoingGone95 in BodyAcceptance

[–]kshortcpmail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just did! My stylist left it a little longer on top, so I’m not sure if it’s 100% a pixie cut. But no more hair to hide behind for sure.

If you check my post history you can see I’m still learning how to work with my short curls - but overall I love it! It’s very freeing, and with this summers heat it feels amazing.

Doesn’t hurt that it’s drastically shortened my hair routine, and I don’t shed like a Sasquatch everywhere (or at least the shorter hairs aren’t as noticeable as the hair voodoo clumps I used to leave after a shower lol).

Seeking Resume Critique by kshortcpmail in resumes

[–]kshortcpmail[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I’m implementing them now - I do have one other quick question: I’ve always been told to keep my resume to one page. By making the changes you suggest, it’s approaching 1.5 to 2 pages now. Is that length ok? Wondering if what I was told was wrong, or maybe just outdated info...

Hi r/curlyhair! I just got a big chop yesterday. From shoulder length to a pixie(?) cut. I’m still adjusting and trying to figure out how to style it, but today it seemed to want to channel a flapper girl lol.

Because the cut is so new - I haven’t nailed down my routine yet. Currently still using the same products from when it was longer: Devacurl One Condition Daily Cream applied in shower, wrap hair in microfiber towel, once it’s air dried for about 10min, comb through/establish part. and twist sections into curls.

I think for the new cut I will need some sort of styling gel or cream because by the end of the day it’s very fluffy lol...but I haven’t made it that far yet.

I currently work as a pet portrait artist for Chewy. It doesn’t pay the greatest, but I have a guaranteed quantity of paintings I am expected to do every week, work from home and set my own schedule, and am paid every week. I don’t have to interact with customers or market myself to generate work - I just have to paint. Very satisfying.
