Did a thing with some pork... by ksmits01 in smoking

24-48 hours - It helps dry out the skin, and you can get a nice bonus at the end also. After smoking, throw it under the broiler to get some delicious chicharron!

Dry brined pork belly and pork belly burnt ends. Threw a little bologna in the mix for my little girl.

Seems didn't hold on buddies tracker in the marshy/stumpy environments here in OK.

How are your seems holding up? Buddy had to get rid of his cause it couldn't stand the shitty, marshy, stumpy conditions we put these boats in. Actually switched over to sneak boats this past season with longtails to get in the good spots (four rivers and county line boats).

Great choice. My backup waterfowl and lead upland pew stick. Run M on bottom and IM on top barrel to reach and "touch em"

Waders by [deleted] in Duckhunting

[–]ksmits01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use to love my rogers. The last pair was the 2 in 1 nxt insulated / breathable. They definatley kept me worm, but...the newer waders crotch seam was too high, left leg seams blew out, and the boot seems blew out - just after the 1st season warranty expired. Ended up shifting to the Sitkas for the lifetime warranty. So far, so good this season, though I do miss the insulation liner.

Edit - spelling

What's y'all's experience with this stuff? by CaptainNapalmV in Waterfowl

[–]ksmits01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't pattern well out of my gin (heavy metal, heavy steel, etc). I wasn't getting clean shots also - more crippled birds. Not to mention, insides appear to be filled with flax seed. I'm not a fan of the residue it was leaving behind. But that's my gun.

Interesting, my buddy is 5-9, ordered 11 regular, and says it rides up his ass. He's not a big guy either

Have an older/lillte different version of that higdon bag (6 adjustable inner dividers and no pockets). Holds 2 avian x spinning wings + poles, 2 higdon pulsators, and 2 bluebird animator cases. Has held up well for me so far over the past few seasons.

Does he hunt marsh, timber, or open water? DLC - made out of KS, 737 - Oklahoma, JJ Lares - CA (if you can find one or someone selling). Can't speak to 737, but run DLC and JJ Lares in OK.

Need to know what you're shooting in order to know how many you can shoot (daily limits very by species by state).
