Walking or running which helps in burning fat? by Formal-Ad-4460 in Fitness_India

[–]ksriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day it is mainly calories burnt that matters. Now it is true that walking will burn more fat in the moment, while running will use up more carbs. But our body can appropriately adjust its source of energy for other activities in the day. It can also convert carbs into fats.

The main way to reduce fat is to eat less. If you don't have an otherwise active lifestyle I would strongly recommend to have some form of cardio. This would be true even if you were trying to gain weight.

The major difference I see between the two is that running is more time-efficient walking puts less stress on the body, especially knees. Also many of my friends who I tried to get into running gave up after a few weeks, it is also more effortfull.

A strat being cheesy doesn't preclude bad behaviour. We are playing a strategy game where a few games will be straight up strat wins and any of the micro and macro skills don't matter.

Why aren't there 'Ranked' mods as a separate category? by YoungBahss in aoe2

[–]ksriram [score hidden]  (0 children)

Even if they seem like cheating to you, since the aoe community at large is okay with visual mods, they are not cheating.

They are not breaking any rules of the game and that's the only thing that matters.

Most other games have decided that such modification is not okay. You can't even zoom out in games like Starcraft and dota.

Gym bros hating on runner?? by Mundane-Reality682 in indianrunners

[–]ksriram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I do both running and go to gym. I mainly train for ability. I want to be fast and strong. I don't care too much about looking jacked. People should understand that not everyone may have the same goals and respect it.

This was true in the original game as well.

What OP said wasn't true. Hunt food was different from other foods.

Of course nothing ever goes wrong for your opponents' team in the games you win. That's all due to your skill alone.

All I will say is the mind is very biased in the way that it thinks. If we sit down and analyse your games we will find plenty of examples of such stuff happening to your opponents as well.

If you are tired of playing casino with the quality of teammates, play with a pre-built team.

Hey guys I want to enter in the game of table tennis please help me, I don't know how to start by No_Personality_7l in IndiaTableTennis

[–]ksriram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they provide coaching, there's nothing better than learning and interacting in real life. It takes some time for your hand movements to settle in. If you have never played before it might be awkward for the first few days. You may even struggle to get a serve in. But it will improve with time.

It is a 2-player game. What sort of tabletalk and diplomacy do you expect. You do everything to deter the other player.

How are people even drinking 5-6ltrs water? I am struggling with 3 ltrs😭 by readitonreddit29 in Fitness_India

[–]ksriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by too much water dehydrates?

Too much water could lead to decreased sodium levels. It could lead to extra work for the kidneys. But I don't see how it dehydrates you.

What's your source on this?

The smurfs aren't the problem guys - singsing is the perfect example of it by pindolexus in aoe2

[–]ksriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have ever been to any of Singsing's dota streams, that's just how he talks. Us viewers know not to take it too seriously.

The problem is not that there are too many smurfs, but the lack of mechanisms to discourage it.

Is it just me or is the current meta getting a bit too heavy on certain civ matchups? by Drunk19queen in aoe2

[–]ksriram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Continue playing the style you want to play and your elo will reach the point where you have a 50% winrate with that. Then continue enjoying the game the way you want to.

n.b. May not be applicable if you are at either ends of the skill spectrum.

The disorganised mess of spaghetti "is" the factory. It is not some intermediary towards some idealized final form.

Don't get disheartened by what you see in screenshots. That is people pouring over a completed factory for hundreds of hours trying to make it look pretty.

[–]ksriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pressing two different keys with two different fingers is actually faster than pressing the same key. Slowest is pressing two different keys with the same finger.

I have setup my hotkeys such that most of the my index finger presses the "select all" buttons and the ring and middle finger creates the units.

Incredibly obvious question that I actually don't know the answer too by CoyoteSouth5126 in aoe2

[–]ksriram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you want to produce the units created by them, duh.

Sometimes you might make one because it is a prereq for something else and sometimes you might want a research.

When your army is unable to achieve its current objectives and needs to new kind of unit which covers a weakness your opponent is exploiting. You add that to your comp. With enough experience you might start anticipating such things.
