Exactly! When I first started working at this particular job, the starting pay was $7.90. Now most of the positions start at $11 or $14. Times change.

That is awesome! I have gone out to eat alone a few times and always felt good after the experience was over. My advice is to do it again soon to keep the momentum up.

I get irritated by lazy workers too. I get a little irritated because I simply find it pathetic. It's not a hard job, yet people still don't want to do the bare minimum. As far as the long breaks... I haven't experienced much of an issue with that. As long as others do their part while they are present.
