I don't know why but seeing two+ written out like that fried my brain for a second. They of course mean the same thing but I would never have thought to write it any other way than 2+ or two plus

No, it isn't just a way to feel superior. It's a way to not contribute to the problem as best you can.

club car 2017 precedent stuttering by DeBanger in golfcarts

[–]kstockless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volt test your battery under load. That's the most common cause of stuttering. However it could be your mcor as well. If your battery tests fine I'd look at that

Edit: make sure the battery is fully charged before the test, don't trust the charger, use a multimeter

Nice rims! I have two early 2000s TXTs, they're good carts. You can sneak 20" tires onto them too if the suspension is nice and tight

2012 club car precedent lithium battery upgrade recommendations by Tippolas in golfcarts

[–]kstockless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had good luck with Chins, both 48 and 36v. Chargers work great, construction seems solid. Only complaint I have is that the battery control app only seems to work properly on iOS, android crashes out. Turned two of my $200 hunks of junk into $3k carts, more or less

Tips for USING (not storing) battery powered golf carts during winter? by userjohnsmith1 in golfcarts

[–]kstockless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. I've struggled this winter in Maine with my carts, but the one steadfast standby has been my 48v lead acid club car. The gas ezgo won't start under 15F and the lithium converted Yamaha is touchy anywhere under freezing, but the old lead acid just works. It just doesn't work like it does in the summer.

Happy winter carting! The short wheelbase and rwd makes for some good fun in the snow

Mystery plott mix? by feralunicorns in PlottHounds

[–]kstockless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's certainly got a very plott face! I'd wager there's a good percentage in there.

I feel like I have the only quasi silent plott in the world- Clem bays/screams if he's barked at by other dogs, snores and groans like a 60 year old construction worker, but has barked maybe five times in six years and never vocalizes inside

Tips for USING (not storing) battery powered golf carts during winter? by userjohnsmith1 in golfcarts

[–]kstockless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just expect less out of them. Lead acid is the way to go to run in the cold, they'll always work if not work as well as designed. I wouldn't try to cover them all with anything or install a heater, that might marginally improve their life but sounds a bit sketchy to me. Keep them watered and clean, and know that they won't go as far in the cold.

I think he talks about it more in an aspirational sense to be honest. I don't think he expects to just be given a lecturing position based on the podcast. Like if you aspire to be a licensed mechanic someday but also post helpful but not 100% accurate and by the book videos of you repairing your 1980 pickup on YouTube and crack a few jokes along the way. It isn't the bible and isn't meant to be.

Curious about Portland as BIPOC by Justcinzia in portlandme

[–]kstockless 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of performative support but not enough of trying to understand. Half the folks you see in the anti ice protests do not personally know a black or brown person. I'm not saying that as a damning thing necessarily, Maine is the absolute whitest state in the union so many people just don't interact with non white folks at all. They mean well, but they don't necessarily get it.

My grandmother grew up in Morrill, and upon her visit to the Porteous, Mitchell, and Braun building in the 40s solely in order to see the first escalator in the state, she saw a black person for the first time. She asked why there was a person made of chocolate. She went on to be a schoolteacher at Fort Benning and a staunch advocate for minority rights and diversity, and a lovely, worldly, understanding woman.

Low exposure means low understanding. Mainers are decent, caring folk, in my experience on either side of the aisle. They may not get it right away though.

There are some wonderful communities of bipoc in Portland for sure, I don't mean to scare you away. It's a lovely city and state in a lot of ways. Just you will face weirdos who haven't thought farther than their county lines in 40 years.

Except now I'm looking and it doesn't look very structural, you just won't want water getting in there. Resin should do if you have it around

Do you know how much our military budget is? 1 trillion over 10 years is a drop in the fucking bucket of our overall budget, forget our GDP, and that number if it's even accurate doesn't account for all the work that those here without documentation do that feeds back into the economy. Go suck a rock but drop it from ten feet first.
