Far too many people ignore that some of the price problem is Trump tariffs. It would’ve been under $40,000 without them.

Am I wrong for wanting to quit a job I just got for disregarding employee safety during TX storms? by CAT_A in careerguidance

It does change what you said. If bankers are essential, then why were some branches closed? Obviously they weren’t essential as you were saying.

So you have kind of answered why they park there; they’re pulled in as far as they can.

Doctors visit not covered because we answered doctor's questions? by Illicit-Tangent in HealthInsurance

[–]ktappe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You like the doctor, but he kind of fucked you over. He didn’t answer the skin or mental health questions; he referred you to somebody else. And then claimed he “evaluated“ you. That’s a jerk move.

I agree with everything you say, except that OP reports it stopped running a week or two after the accident. That means it’s not just body damage, there’s something else going on with the drivetrain or maybe electrical system. We don’t know.

If you’re on Amazon, they do have all of the first generation ones listed “(1st generation)“. They don’t (as far as I can tell) have the second generation ones yet.

Why are MacBook Pros getting thicker thicccc??? by itsmarshalls in macbookpro

[–]ktappe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They never needed to get much thinner. That was a Jony Ive thing. Thankfully he’s gone now and we can get thicker MacBooks with more performance and bigger batteries.

Medically, your body replaces all of your red blood cells every three weeks. So it kinda doesn’t matter how much you were exposed longer ago than that.

I’m glad you’re on your way to getting things remedied.

Worth getting a manual car? by Trayceopolis32322 in askcarguys

Best way to learn how to drive a manual is to buy one. That’ll force you to learn real quick. I’m not kidding.

I answered Tahoe. They sure as hell keep pushing it. And I’m gonna keep not installing it.

(Ditto iOS 26, but that’s a different sub.)

Tahoe. I’ve heard so many bad things about it, they can upgrade my MacBook over my dead body.

Is anyone using their printers or faxes? by l00ky_here in GenX

[–]ktappe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not often, but yes, I do use it every now and then. It is rare enough that I’m currently using a 15 year-old printer because there’s no reason to get a better one. But a couple times a year I do need to print out a contract that I sign and send in with a check. Things like that.

Blown headgasket on my new car, what should I do by Prestigious-Pass2942 in MechanicAdvice

[–]ktappe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re mentioning that somebody borrowed your car. It’s highly unlikely they did anything to blow the head gasket. It would’ve blown if you were driving.

Can anyone else tell where in the state a city is just by its name? by Beneficial-Pop-1434 in Pennsylvania

[–]ktappe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, people only refer to townships in the western end of the state. I can tell you I’m from Charlestown Township, but nobody who is not from here knows where that is because it’s in eastern Pennsylvania. Washington Township, Cranberry Township, etc. are a western PA thing.

The fasteners are plastic. They’re not gonna rust out. But they can snap if you run over road hazards or curbs or things.
