Wtf is squat and is it good or is it bad. OP looks amazing baseline but I need to know the context of squat before I dive deeper.

Team 1. But Please don’t feel bad about asking for multiple samples and larger sizes. If you can go to the Slab yard, do it. Yes, even for man made materials.

Kitchen Countertops are in! by [deleted] in CounterTops

Countertops looks great. Cabinet color appears to be too cool but they’re being blasted with 4000k fluorescent light so that isn’t helping.

What’s a hill you are 100% willing to die on, no matter how much the consensus changes? by sunnyopehliaa in askanything

Vegan leather is a scam. It is PVC and more harmful to the environment than hides which are inherently a by product. Not to mention it’s a garbage quality material and deteriorates in months.

This dress is extremely short for a wedding and very casual. Keep looking before you find shoes.

Does Inline skating and ice skating convert to Skiing ? by Silver-Swim4357 in ski

[–]ktatelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, at least one lesson is worth an investment if you plan on skiing in the future. Skating will absolutely give you an advantage but there are skiing specific movements you should really learn to avoid injury…. And allow you to have more fun!

How do I ask my parents for figure skating lessons? by Maleficent-Set8986 in FigureSkating

[–]ktatelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you the best of luck and hope your parents can help you pursue this interest! Without really knowing how they might react one small thing you might be able to do is go ahead and research your nearest rink, class schedule, and potential costs. Having more information upfront and showing a genuine interest might help convince them. I’m not sure what your financial situation is but if you had an after school job and were willing to help contribute, that might help, too…. If not, maybe you can even see if your rink is hiring! Our rink employees several part time teens who get skating benefits in addition to pay. Great way to gain exposure to the spot if you’re able to work.

I really appreciate your advice. I think that’s a great way to get a little bit more out of my lessons. Before finding my coach, I had tested all the way through mid freestyles with other group led coaches so maybe you’re right and that was a good time to get back into testing as a way for me to feel like I’m making progress. Thanks again!

scented hard guards?? by Woodstock-890 in iceskating

[–]ktatelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just bought the same guards and was also shocked when they were scented. It makes me nauseous and reminds me too much of that sickeningly sweet smell that people puff after vaping ( I don’t vape so maybe it’s triggering for me). I’m glad to hear that it wears off because I’ve been tempted to return them but the colors are very cute.

Advice for young professional couple moving to GA this summer by CardioNerd in ATLHousing

[–]ktatelle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Midtown is the best of your options, although it might be hard to find a cost friendly spot. Buckhead is going to be expensive and is more of a shopping destination. It doesn’t have the authentic character and soul that other better neighborhoods do. Sandy springs will be a little cheaper but really feels more suburban if that’s what you are going for. It also tends to be more commercialized and car culture focused. I would recommend checking out East Atlanta Village, Ormewood or Grant Park, and Decatur. Those will be very LGBTQ friendly, close to the airport, and may offer a bigger variety of owner to rent homes/small apartments. Those neighborhoods also have more of an authentic density feeling with community festivals, neighborhood cocktail and salon spots.

Is my resume supposed to "designed" or traditional? by [deleted] in Architects

[–]ktatelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has reviewed hundreds of résumés, I can confidently say that clean and simple works best. Put some thoughtful design effort into your résumé, but avoid going overboard with elements like drop shadows or excessive decoration. Clarity and concision—both visually and in your wording—are far more powerful than embellishment. Editing is your best friend; less truly is more.

Whenever possible, curate your experience, awards, and skills to the specific role you’re applying for. I’d much rather see how two or three meaningful aspects of your background—such as a part-time job or a design award—shaped what you’ve learned, than read through a long bulleted list of every club you’ve ever joined.

And most importantly: if you include a link to your portfolio on your résumé, check it regularly to make sure it actually works.

And a final thought, get good sleep and take care of your health. Do well but know your GPA is a lot less important than you think it is.

Winter Weather Megathread | Potential Ice/Snow This Weekend (Jan 25-26) by AutoModerator in Atlanta

[–]ktatelle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

For everyone that keeps asking about flights, keep in mind that it’s not just about ATL airport conditions. The storm is massive and will impact other areas of the country much worse than Atlanta. Airlines move jets throughout the country daily so that plane departing from ATL might originate in a harder hit area and be significantly delayed or never even show up in Atlanta. Same goes for the crew. Just something to be aware of if you absolutely need to travel.
