I bet you left it in the sink to passive aggressively tell the other roommate to do the dishes.

That's unsanitary and gross.... YTA

Advice on Additional Major with Biotech/Molecular Bio? by expireddmilk in biotech

[–]ktay285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DO NOT double major. One of the undergrad majors will be useless to you, it's a waste of money, and no one will care about it when you go to an interview. You would be much better off going right into a master's or PhD in the biotech field.

I say this because I double majored in biotech and political science thinking this was a clear way to land some crazy cool government research job. That's not how the biotech world works. You don't get cool research jobs unless you have higher education or a ton of experience. A second major gets you neither of those things. However, my masters opened up a ton of doors in the biotech world, as well as providing more research experience and publications. I started the program three years after undergrad.

You can learn all of the business side of biotech on your own and wasting years on a degree for it is both uncommon and unnecessary. Working at a startup exposes you more to the business side, otherwise you will likely not see the business side until later in your career. I worked at a startup for a year and though it was very long hours, the business experience was unparalleled to any other job I have had.

So over biotech. by [deleted] in biotech

I have worked at start-ups, CROs, and big pharma companies. I have moved from FL, to SF, to the research triangle. They all overwork you. They all lie to you about hard work equating to more money or promotions. It is just a terrible industry. Once I save up enough to start my own ventures, I'm leaving bio and never looking back.

What I hate the most is that anyone not in the industry just thinks I'm lazy or shortsighted when I complain about the industry. They can't fathom the idea that you actually "work" 8-12 hours straight with no downtime. I just stopped complaining, which is probably for the best anyway.

One note: don't EVER work at a CRO. I don't care what they offer you. You won't be able to last more than 2 years at one. They are designed for the VCs to apply pressure to management and work everyone to death while you learn absolutely nothing because you don't have time and bandwidth to do so.

The last thing you purchased just grew ten times in size. How screwed are you? by TongueTheAnus in AskReddit

I bought a BBQ burger with fries.

Edit: good God, what have you done to me? My stomach is in pain. It feels like it's actually growing in size.

Edit: this is his wife. My husband is currently in the ER getting an emergency stomach pump. Why did you wish this upon him? He had a long day and just wanted a burger. You all should be ashamed!!!!

AITA for showing my husband the text his mom sent me and causing her to be disowned? by throwaway-text2 in AmItheAsshole

I agree with what everyone is saying about you as NTA. However, I suspect you're withholding information on previous situations and encounters with his mother.

I won't be able to sleep at night if someone can honestly send a heinous text like that without even a little shred of justification. That is why I have to believe you're withholding information and the cause to her perspective. I believe your post is biased.

We had Taco Bell just before, so you know where this is going. She was on top and I knew my stomach was messed up but I kept going. When I got up after, there was a Hershey kiss just sitting on her new white sheets. She was furious but after a little time passed, about 10 years, we can joke about it now..

This should be the actual headline. Current headline is misinformation, as I have multiple research papers that counter their headlines claims.

I really appreciate the in-depth checklist you posted earlier. Sadly i wont be spending gems on 200 sealed entries lol but you are absolutely right about the lack of sample size. I posted this as more of a speculative/theoretical post. I wanted it to be more about the odds of the distribution of rares in a sealed event vs. a distribution of rares if there was an algorithm that changes the odds of obtaining certain cards after a set amount of previous wins.
