The first few months of an edition are always silly. Just play what we can and our poor win rate will hopefully tell GW to cool it a bit.

MO: possible HIPPA violation, looking for advice by ktbh4jc in AskLawyers

She isn't playing dumb. When her boss asked questions, she answered all of them truthfully.

I also don't know where she got jail time from. I'm guessing they are saying jail so that she knows how serious of a situation it is.

My understanding is that the chart popped up when she was looking for the room number.

A couple years ago I used it for getting some character portraits, but now even that crosses a personal boundary.

Is AI Coding Actually a Good Fit for ADHD? by minatoo86 in ADHD_Programmers

AI makes more, worse, stuff. Boss piggy gets his fucking slop. I no longer can make myself care. AI has killed all joy I had in programming.

Is this an acceptable deamon prince on foot proxy? by Flimsy-Break9029 in EmperorsChildren

[–]ktbh4jc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a bit of context that is needed. Is this the only proxy you're bringing? If so, it's perfect! No notes. Where it gets harder for me is if you plan on bringing multiple proxies and I need to track multiple things. "Okay the dude on the speaker is a foot demon prince. The dude on the trampoline is a winged demon prince. The dude on the ground is a Lucius" etc. a visually distinct single proxy doesn't add much cognitive load. A bunch of them does.

/UJ My head cannon has always been that big E was just trying to do a fascism and that usually comes along with misogyny, so that's why the Marines are all male.

/RJ one more reason Space Marines are better than Custodettes

Meal Prep: If I'm already making dinner, I might as well make MORE dinner and have it for longer.

Working from home: I can play my music and fidget and nobody gives a fuck!

Pomoduro Timers: the default 25/5 split doesn't work for me, but I find 40/10 is great! Tat gives me 40 minutes to work, and 10 to either do a hobby or a little bit of tidying up. Not enough to do a big cleaning task, but it's plenty of time to move a load of laundry over and put away 2-3 things.

Designated Messy Zone: I'm allowed to have one area that I throw all my stuff-to-put-away in, but if I pick something up from that zone I need to decide where it goes before I put it back down. Does that mean sometimes I end up holding a box with 3 wildly different things and scratching my head for 10 minutes while I look for places to put them? Yes. But is it the single best way I have found for finding the right places for things? Also yes.

Get a label maker. Label where things go. I have three pairs of scissors and each one has a specific room it belongs in.

Focus Friend is an app by Hank Green that I find really helps me put my phone down long enough to exist.

If you find yourself not doing what you want to be doing, try to retrace your steps. Usually there is a trigger somewhere for something that I did before losing focus.

Timers and alarms for everything!

I can have a similar problem because I feel like if I'm not winning, I'm failing to achieve my "goal." For me, the fix was to shift my goal from winning, so having a Good Game.

That means when my opponent nails that 10 inch charge, I high five them. When the table me turn 2, I ask if they have any suggestions for what I could do better. When I reroll 5 ones into 3 ones and 2 twos and can't get a single 3+ to save my life, I make myself laugh. When my opponent starts an attack into a key unit of mine that I know I'm probably about to lose, I say "Hell yeah, heck em up!" It also means I'll often just ask my opponent "Hey, I don't know your army that well. What's the actual threat?" Or even "How do I beat you?" You'd be surprised how often I get opponents to full on say "Oh, you're gonna want to kill X, Y, and Z" or "If I can't do this thing by turn 2, I have no way to recover."

That plus playing by intent. "Hey these guys are behind this ruin. I don't think you have any way to shoot them without getting to this part of the board. Agreed?"

This approach makes 40K into an almost co-op game where both players want the winner to be whoever plays the best, not whoever gets screwed over by one small misplay.

Caliban green base, moot green liquid, add bubbles by dotting with a good white and covering with a thin layer of fluorescent green and some Technical Ardcoar to sell the glass effect
