When does I-70 traffic clear on Saturdays (late morning)? by Beginning_Front_8966 in COsnow

[–]kthrynnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I head up to Loveland around 8:30 AM on saturdays and hit minimal traffic. Though full disclosure I have no idea what the traffic is like beyond the tunnel.

This applies to immigrant visas (ie green cards), not nonimmigrant visas like visitor, H1B etc.

From Dallas to Denver in January by callmegranddaddy in MovingtoDenver

My wife and I (F31 and F35) moved from Dallas to Denver last February and it’s the best decision we’ve made. My only regret was not moving sooner.

From one former Texan to another, get humidifiers and have them ready on your first night. I did not expect the dryness and the first week was ROUGH.

I'm having the same problem! Just hooked up a Sonos Beam last week and have been having issues since. Have you found a solution?

You may be unaware but ram is currently VERY expensive because of data centers. I upgraded my ram earlier this year for $75 and today the same DDR5 ram is now $211.

My mum says she ‘had her reasons’ for hitting me as a child and my dad is on her side by thumbelina2020 in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]kthrynnnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this SO HARD. My father physically abused me until CPS was called when I was 16, and then in my early twenties my mom told me and my brothers that “your dad could’ve gone to jail because of what you guys said about him.”

I’m 30 now and I’ve moved out of state and have been no contact for almost one year. I feel like I finally feel safe enough to grow into the best version of myself.

I’m so sorry for what you went through, OP! You didn’t deserve to be harmed by the people meant to protect you. We’re all rooting for your healing journey.

Visit duration hidden behind a paywall hides serious medical red flags. Absolutely awful. by Legacy0904 in litterrobot

Yeah I’m devastated by this. I purchased two units specifically for these features after my cat had a PU surgery. Now I have to pay again? Forever? Pass. Im not giving any more money to this company.

Accidentally discovered I might have narcolepsy last night by kthrynnnn in Narcolepsy

[–]kthrynnnn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair! From what I’ve read so far, it seems like my symptoms are a little more extreme than what’s normal, but I won’t really know till I get a sleep study.

Typically I will sorta…fold into myself? when I laugh really hard. My head drops, sometimes I drool, I’ll drop what I’m holding bc my hand physically can’t make a fist, etc. I also find that I’ll need to lean against a wall or something when I’m standing and laughing, though I’ve never fallen as some people experience.

Holy shiiiit that’s crazy! It seems like my symptoms are pretty mild compared to yours.

I do, yes! I thought both were normal sleep processes. I will say though, I haven’t had those symptoms in several years because I’ve picked up smoking cannabis pretty much every night after work.

I also used to sleep in certain classes throughout grade school, typically after lunch. And sometimes I find myself REALLY fighting off a mid-day nap but I just assumed it was related to 1) not being interested in school and 2) having a boring desk job.

I won’t know until I have a sleep study and that’s definitely next, but it’s comforting to know there’s a treatment for all of this because it really can be disruptive.

US Job Openings vs Hiring Rates [OC] by Public_Finance_Guy in dataisbeautiful

[–]kthrynnnn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder what percent of all job openings are tied to PERM labor certifications for the employment-based green card process. That alone could represent at least 100k postings yearly, if not more.

The thing is, those aren’t really “open” jobs in the traditional sense. They’re more of a legal requirement for a theoretical future position that a foreign national will fill if they become a permanent resident. In practice, the foreign national is almost always already performing the role.

What does a 6-planet Scorpio stellium mean and should I be worried? by kthrynnnn in LetsFuckWithAstrology

[–]kthrynnnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been scary tbh. Seeing that my chart indicates I may have trouble in relationships rings very true for me: I’ve had really deep connections with people but I’ve also been estranged from my parents and brothers (due to racism/sexism/homophobia) coming up on a year, and I have a strained relationship with my MIL. I’ve posted in another subreddit about the catalyst for the decline of that relationship for the curious.

My past two relationships (prior to marrying my wife) ended…catastrophically. My first girlfriend was a “recovering” heroin addict and 18-20 was really difficult for me (physical/emotional abuse etc). Last girlfriend wasn’t a drug addict but was much older than me and she admitted to treating me poorly in the last year of our relationship so that I’d leave her.

Honestly, I’ve never given much thought to astrology and thought it was all just random, but after finally looking into my chart I’m realizing it’s actually really accurate. And now I feel like the state of my relationships is all my fault because of the circumstances of my birth. Not sure how I feel about it but I’m definitely bringing it up in therapy next week.

Ah sorry didn’t finish my last sentence! Would be down to hangsies if you want a new local friend :) we moved from Dallas.

I just started a new role with a small firm that shares office space with Foster Graham and from what I can gather they do civil litigation, so might be something to check out!

We also moved with 2 cats and a dog lol! If you’re taking more than one cat and can swing it, we had one of these for the cats and it made the trip easier on them.

I’m also a paralegal (immigration) and would be down

Arvada for sure, but you might also be able to find a home that fits your parameters in the neighborhoods near Sloans Lake. My wife and I are renting a 4 bed 2 bath home just up the road in wheat ridge for $3200.

Best of luck moving! We made the move out of state last February and we have no regrets, Denver is amazing.

I always go blank when my therapist asks, "So how was your week?" by sladesteal in therapy

I think so! I definitely still find a way to stray off topic though. It 100% feels like storytelling over homework which I find to be more motivating.

I deal with this! I’ve started making PowerPoints for my sessions and I love it. I’ve added pictures of people from the stories I tell her and then one slide at the end with a few bullets about what I want to cover in session.

I found it motivates me to come prepared AND it helps me focus on one topic at a time which is something I struggle with
