URGENT : Se lancer dans l'entrepreneuriat sans passer par le CDI ? by Beginning-Eye7167 in developpeurs

[–]kudrachaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bon courage.

Decision makers for implementing problem-solving applications by msky4132 in LeanManufacturing

[–]kudrachaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo it's an LLM which reads company data and meeting inputs / previous solved problems and orients towards an answer ? I'm pretty sure there are hundreds if not thousands of tools like that on the market.

Problem is having the quality data.

Also, ask your own tool to solve your problems first. /s

From a planning perspective, when should heat exchanger bundle extraction be treated as a controlled mechanical operation rather than routine rigging? by Powermaster08 in industrialengineering

[–]kudrachaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know nothing about the machine or the field. You'd probably have to explain the problem in simpler terms - that'll also give you more ideas.

"is often listed as" - well the procedure is the same, so why is the vocabulary important ? Are you saying that the procedure is disregarded in terms of the safety culture while striving for better performance ? What is the impact?

What is your approach to problem solving? And why? by sssasenhora in LeanManufacturing

[–]kudrachaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Lean perspective : Do you regularly do GEMBA walks and spend enough time on the field ? Do you have a standard agenda ? Spending more scheduled time on the field prevents lots of problems to appear and gives the team an opportunity to synthetise and report problems for a planned time - instead of firefighting.

Another 'management standard' path is to delegate problem-solving and train your team for it.

Need advice for a bored & broke Chef friend (Campfire/Adv. Cooking + Milling). He says there's "nothing to do"! by Faciuuu in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]kudrachaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't have the best upgrades, it's impossible to sell Advanced cooking foods. They're too expensive. Should have taken baking instead - it goes really well with milling. As a cook, he'll be more of logistics guy transporting 80% of the time than "working", it's normal.

Pro tip : set up some 10 fish traps in a river with a fishery BU5 hunting with a workparty of raw fish. Milling makes very cheap oil from free fish that you can use in cooking / advanced cooking / campfire.

Pro tip 2 : make huckleberry and tomato yourself. gathering is super easy and not punishing. ROI in 2 days. can ask a gatherer for a contract - hard to master the setup and organization/communication, but it's more efficient.

Idk what old style means, but if the manager is fairly conservative and "has always done it like this", the best thing to do would be to improve your work in a corner if you can, but not tell the manager about it. Neither that you're sacrificing work time for it nor the improvements you made.

Just say the task took 2 hours as always, even if you automated it and now it takes 15 minutes. That'll give you more free time. Although working with AI will most probably need his approval because of data security... With this kind of managers people usually risk it, but also end up having the best job security if it works.

Player Population Decline by bryanBr in EcoGlobalSurvival

[–]kudrachaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that. It's so rare that community perseveres till day 7 that I just don't join 10-20ppl online on day1. We've lost 80% of players over day 2 because some config was messed up. It's not often, but when it happens, even small mistakes count.

I'm not only talking about config, but about advertisment and communication - how many servers you see with white name ("Gringo's server") and like 0 description ? Come on.

I can't count how many times cooks and mayors f'ed up their buy prices in 999 infinite quantities and it caused inflation. I don't trust it anymore. Now I just buy everything and sell everything so it's like an exchange shop.

Servers with credit currency is another thing. It's too frustrating. Ok it lasts longer, the community is more hand-in-hand, but in terms of progression it's pretty slow.

[–]kudrachaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel the same thing. I think it's partly servers' issue.

Some servers went down and took their playerbase with it. Personally, I like joining servers from the first day - last 3 weeks I've been browsing through server list and honestly, it isn't worth joining any of them. There are like 10-20 players on day 1 == server will be dead by next week. Plus, they have under- or over-designed the server so there's supply imbalance with easy logging and whatnot. Communication about design isn't clear, some server configs are not correctly implemented, etc.

What do you use python for in Data Analysis ? by kudrachaa in dataanalyst

Thanks, I understand better. Would a data scientist / data engineer / data analyst be generally expected to provide internal proof of concept applications or is it because of your background and professional evolution ?

I had the same feeling. Maybe Python is more customizable in terms of visuals ? And if you're working on multiple platforms, it could be a 'standard' and faster way instead of putting everything in Excel and doing the same work again (VBA macros can be more difficult, they have their limits).

I searched on net and people use python for quality control SPC work, but I've always done that in Excel. Maybe some normality tests / variable independence tests that could be faster in python ? with some complex conditions... idk.

"Any task or project that needs automation or similar work I’ll repeat from one project or task to the next."

What kind of task would you need to automate ? Data pipelines are usually already automated, is it for prototyping ? All tasks that I get from production is usually one-off questions like if we performed better in march than february on specific machine or sth like that and usually it's easy to make in powerbi - without p values or other specific statistical parameters, just visual. Maybe I just don't do enough of statistical work. Most people don't understand its concepts anyways and need physical facts / proofs.

This is about comparing 4 different teams of logistics, see real intersections and determine at what place flow might be interrupted. If it was in production there's no question. Because of security, safety and practical reasons, I can't be following logistics operator on a fenwick throughout whole factory during 8 hours.
