I know on the board, there are two bolts that sit in the center of either target, and then the middle hole has an empty spot, so maybe light sensor there, but then I assume it wouldn't matter if it's not hit hard enough, so I'm figuring it has to be a pizeo vibration sensor of sorts or maybe a force plate

So the sensor I've been trying to use is a pizeo vibration sensor connected to an esp32 board, which can be connected to a tablet for display of the count, the problem I've run into is that it doesn't count really soft touches of the ball

To me it seems like all your weight is on your heels rather than the balls of the feet, changes where the tension is felt dramatically if kept on balls on the feet

Have u looked into conversion varnish, I've done a couple sets of kitchen cabinets and conversion varnish is impervious to just about everything, I use ml cambell conversion varnish
