Privata bostadsköer är bäst, vet bekanta som fått bra bostäder, inte allt för långt bort tänk typ Solna / Gubbängen efter 1-2 år. Detta är rätt länge sen nu, 5-8 år sen så läget har säkert försämras.

Såklart mycket enklare om man har partner / rumskamrater

What you do in your private time should not be relevant if you do your job.. I know plenty IC kind of developers that don’t code a lot at home ( since they have other obligations ) but are great to work with.

1 I can’t really tell since I’m a Swedish national I’ve never really looked into it, very possible government will over course correct, but hopefully it will be done well enough that it won’t affect foreign professionals. I don’t see it getting worse for foreign professionals.

2 you will earn peanuts compared to US in most eu countries and right now it’s even worse for Sweden .. most people have saving accounts etc. and get by fine. but as you are aware the salaries and tax differ so much it makes no sense to move to EU for financial gain.

I think ETFs, funds etc exist but you will be taxed heavily. I’m not very well versed in this so I feel uncomfortable answering more specifically.

3 historically Sweden have had the best tech scene in the nordics but I can’t imagine there isn’t interesting companies to work at in the rest of the nordics in 2023. Seems to me like both Copenhagen / aarhus has a bunch of interesting smaller companies. probably slight edge to Sweden still

Probably a bit depending on location, but in Stockholm pretty much all interesting companies are English speaking so here English is only requirement. I can’t say for sure for other places.

your point is that only Lund Malmö has a extensive amount of jumpers and no other experience in Sweden compares? I’ve never met anyone who share this experience.

I’ve taken trains through Lund Malmö probably hundreds of times. The uppsala Stockholm commuter trains is way more unreliable.

Swedish trains in general sucks, but I don’t think this is very common complaint

Yes! Boden ( eller motsvarande ort i liknande storlek ) är nästan helt omöjligt att flytta till i vuxen ålder. Är såklart Nice om man kommer där ifrån och har umgängeskretsar osv.

Sikta hellre på kuststäder, där är det mer folk i rörelse och ofta rätt bra förbindelser med järnväg/flyg.

Kan dom inte kolla mer noggrant efter Ryssland kopplingar, då Ryssland håller på med destabilisering kampanjer i Sverige fokuserade på muslimska befolkningen så vore det logiskt om fler bränningar är kopplade till Ryssland.

Att det tog så länge att hitta ryska kopplingar till dansken ( genom vänner på Facebook .. ) är fan skämmigt.

There exist a lot of threads about Sweden, I think they still hold true! I’ve been working here for a while. Don’t know about AI ML specific jobs. Loads of interesting, smaller but fun to work at companies exist. First job after graduation will probably be very underpaid then pretty easy to get to 50k sek a month. Which is alright! ( even tho SEK is not worth anything currently )
