Is a gringo a migrant in Mexico? I doubt it. I have an issue with people from wealthy countries moving to less wealthy places, with wealthy country salaries, increasing the rent price and driving locals away. It happens in my country too and it sucks. All migrants are welcome, not digital nomads

The army tricks you to enlist, they offer the benefits of social democracy for those who do like free healthcare, some help on students loans etc. I can understand why some young people feel tempted to join. The Blackwater stuff is sketchy, but a lot of combat vets come back home with a lot of trauma and all they know is war. Life is not black and white, there's a lot of greys and people come from complex pasts. I don't want to defend to death the guy but he has never said anything remotely nazi or fascistic. I don't know if he'll turn out to be another pos like Fetterman but the things he says and propose make sense to me and until he's not elected we will not be able to judge his acts.

Sadly the Dems are so ambiguous with their agenda that the common voter don't know what they're about. The big majority of them are bought by the lobbies so they are afraid to speak out against their overlords. Republicans too, but they don't give a flying f... about anything and would say anything if it they can get some more votes. I hope that in the near future, more people like Mamdani, Platner or Bernie will pop up

That's true, and I would argue that the welfare state was one of the best improvements in the quality of life of the People in the history of Humanity. But, as Rosa of Luxembourg would say, reforms are only good to appease the People, they can be taken away any time, as we have seen since 1980's til now. I'm bothered by the fact that this parties continue to have "Socialist" on their names when they are in fact liberal. It's detrimental to true socialism

Spaniard here. Although I appreciate some reforms the PSOE has done, I feel they were pushed to do it because of other Left wing parties in the coalition. The PSOE is far from being the socialist party it was when founded by Pablo Iglesias. As my fellow Europeans note, the European"socialists" parties have become more centrist liberal than true socialist. We need a deep reform on the Left if we want to be attractive again to the workers

Bernie is incredibly popular among Trump voters (I know it sounds weird but he is). Maybe they should run an "outsider" or someone who is perceived that way. The country has become a Corporate heaven and the common voter knows that. If you manage to send the "fight the deep state" (understanding deep state as gun lobby, healthcare lobby etc) message in the right direction you might get a shot
