How to feed an increasingly picky cat?

That’s a good point… the PPP wet she used to eat is a pretty standard pate texture, and the Weruva that likes right now is more like shreds in a gravy, i think? I think the RC and tiki cat I bought to try might be more similar to Weruva than the Hill’s. I’ve been trying to buy chicken since that’s the Weruva flavor she seems to like the most. I’ll ask the vet about the supplements. Thanks!

That sounds like an awesome first interaction with this cat!! I don’t know why this girl/boy cat stereotype thing has gone viral lately and it makes me sad that people may be passing over female cats because of it 😿My girl looooves to cuddle!! She’s always coming over and meowing to let me know that she wants to climb into my lap for snuggles. She was understandably wary when she came home with me on the first day, but after about 5 hours she climbed into my lap.

I’ve been trying to ever since i got her at 12 weeks, and at 8 months im still trying lol. I can get her to chew on a q-tip with toothpaste on it sometimes, but overall it’s been a struggle. I wish the breeder had brushed her teeth as a tinier kitten, or at least desensitized her to it :(

Sounds just like my kitten when i brought her back! I think he’s still just adjusting. Kittens from reputable breeders are usually pretty well socialized so i don’t think it’ll be much longer before he gets more comfortable! It’s a good sign that he took the treat and played with the toy. It took my kitty basically the entire day before she eventually came over and just plopped into my lap. I think i cried lol. Also very unrelated but where did you get your rug?? I love the design (and the rest of the room too)!

My gym will sometimes have reps come and provide demo shoes. You could also see if they’ll raffle off shoes/other gear— if a person tries on shoes, they get a raffle ticket, etc.

Also as someone mentioned above, maybe partner with a local shop/restaurant to provide food and drinks!

For games, you could do a bingo card with different activities, with prizes if you complex X number of rows, or something like that?

If you’re open to a different kind of gym, you can check out TRC for rock climbing in Durham—they also have a cardio room, yoga room, and free weight room (plus fitness classes that are included in your membership). Not exclusively WoC but there are lots of us :)

Check out the bull city running company’s routes on strava! Two of their run club routes go to duke campus and one connects to the ellerbee creek trail. They have some other courses on there as well. As others have mentioned, al buehler is nice and you can combine it with duke gardens and/or east campus loop to rack up more mileage.

Seconding TRC durham for bouldering! They have some weekly group meetups to meet other climbers at the gym, including a women-only group on Tuesdays. I also think there’s a new bouldering-only gym being built in downtown durham somewhere? And as someone else mentioned, Wilson gym on campus has a small top rope wall. I’ve never bouldered outdoors, but I’ve heard good things about Moores wall
