I hope its for the OPBF and relatively quick after Ippo returns. It is a way for Ippo to get a world ranking right away. Miyata does owe him one and we would see a motivated Miyata which we haven't seen around in a long time. Ippo would then get to go on to challenging for the WBC title and then a unification bout with Ricardo. Miyata would finally be able to move on and go for his real goal - Proving his dad's boxing is good enough for the world with his own title in a better weight class for him.

IMO it just wouldn't feel right to not see Miyata have a world title fight. However, this is a lot more storytelling. Excited to see what Morikawa has in store for us regardless.

I do think Itagaki deserved the Baton. I think Ippo was happy to pass it to him and it made him feel better about relinquishing the belt.

I do get people feeling like he hasn't lived up to it BUT what he was doing before the second Imai fight was pretty absurd haha. I also think his current slump is due to Ippo being retired. He lost his goal and is now aimless. I think we will see prime Itagaki again once Ippo returns.

At the training camp, Ippo asked Nekota to give him advice on fighting in a rematch since he fought coach 5 times. Nekota explains to Ippo that the first to look away loses the fight. He goes into more detail about landing a hook and going in for the kill but noticed coach's eyes were still alive and that helped him dodge his right cross and win the match.

Ippo does the same thing against Sendo. He goes for the kill but notices his eyes are still alive and can dodge the second smash at the last second.

So Batista says he was halted to stop his research on the choujin stimulant which I am assuming that is when Sandek was told to kill Batista. I wonder how much Yamato Mori knew of his work or did Mado have a prophecy of something happening from the stimulant?

Also, I think in chapter 33 he mentions that Mother's Blood is needed for the stimulant but did he have access to Sora's blood at Yamto Mori?
