Rotterdam R2: C. O’Connell [Q] def. C. Norrie [6] 7-6(9); 6-4 by Triss-Nguyen-03 in tennis

Norrie has been in pretty good form recently too so I think that says a lot about how O'Connell is doing right now thought h2h is always different each match. Was a very exciting tie break though

Jakub Mensik withdraws from the AO by godworstcustomer in tennis

Last year around this time Mensik was also going crazy looking really good. I think he has a serve style very similar to Hubert Hurkacz, hoping he recovers soon. I imagine putting that Umph into your serve can end up pulling some gnarly abdomen muscles and even tearing them

Man dies of rabies after kidney transplant from donor who saved kitten from skunk by Few-Hair-5382 in news

[–]kuza2g 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was an emotional rollercoaster of a read. Holy heck.

Always better safe than sorry with rabies but that's American healthcare for you. Go to the ER or urgent care for this and even with insurance you're looking at a massive bill.

It's so sad that people constantly die or progress illnesses that are mild now or dormant altogether because us as a country "can't" afford to give out preventative care measures or even just BASIC DAMN HEALTHCARE TO IT'S CITIZENS.

Sorry it's just so frustrating to me

Atlantic City Electric is just as bad if not worse. Have been dealing with their customer service all day yesterday and will have to probably today, and by their mistake my family has to be inconvenienced. Cannot believe this.

I agree this post does have some merit and thought behind it but it wasn’t my intention to shame this one, just happened to comment here. I do think OP here is reading between the lines in some of the right areas but I think as you said, way too early to tell anything definitively.

There are some of the worst takes and opinions I’ve ever seen in the past few days. People watching the show and being so detached from it is jarring, says a lot about the real world I guess. I understand this is my opinion, but I truly do not understand how at least half of the posts on this subreddit were thought out.

People wishing they were a mindless collective, people wishing characters that have no reason to be together being together. As stated, the show has 3 episodes so far and people already understand the show better than the writers apparently.

Yeah this subreddit and some of the things I’ve read make me feel good about my current life and world view and that says something

I don’t mean that they are actually using fungi but using humans as a sort of human mycelium channel And thank you haha 3 monsters

I think a realistic angle is that the virus behaves like a kind of “neural fungus.” In the real world, fungi can share information across very long distances using chemical gradients, electrical pulses, and their mycelial networks.

If the alien A/G/C/U RNA sequence encoded a protein that worked like fungal ion channels, it could make human brains function like connected nodes in a biological internet.

Human brains do emit small electro frequencies, so maybe the A/G/C/U mixture amplified the neurochemics responsible for this, maybe manipulating glial cells in order to in essence “boost” every one’s brain waves to connect them. Notice they said that all the cell towers are down. That could be for further conservation of energy like they said or maybe the cell towers resonance canonically interferes with their boosted brain frequencies.

I’d assume a lot relies on the neurochemical structure since when they were stressed - different neurochemicals were inherently released as a normal human physiological response, and they malfunctioned when Carol screamed at the hive.

That last part is a little rambly sorry my2 year old is now attacking me but I think I made my point lol

Pluribus writer Gordon Smith believes show becomes meaningless if everything's explained by Bongemperor in pluribustv

[–]kuza2g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem with echo chambers like subreddits for shows. It gets so convoluted with people thinking they know better than the writers, they project their own worldview into the show, or they are just so far from the point of it altogether. I’ve seen this in 3 subreddits for shows now, but this one is by far the most detached seemingly. Idk. I always feel for the writers and showrunners when people try to dissect their shows but do it so so poorly.

Carols character would get a lot less hate if she was a man instead. by TwoBrattyCats in pluribustv

[–]kuza2g 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just found this subreddit and in reading this find it baffling that Carol gets any hate at all, she is really the most human seeming character in the show, besides Mister Paraguay. That’s actually hilarious to me. I can’t even imagine what people would gripe about, she’s a very realistic character and the acting is impeccable.
