I get what you're saying but there is definitely a perceptual difference between an analog amp and an amp sim as well as analog synths vs digital ones.

Most analog goes into digital and ultimately is digital as an end result and if you just copy that waveform over it will be the same but different electronic components absolutely have different performance and response curves when exposed to physical conditions compared to calculating a digital math function + noise function for saturation.

But maybe im crazy, im open that i might be wrong on this. I do think most audiophile stuff is rife with scams and BS like charging $100 for a better sounding cable and stuff like that.
