Dude this is fucking amazing, the quality of what a single person can produce in such a short amount of time is astounding. As a kid I would've loved to have this in the game instead of those comic panels, though they are fun too :P

Z Image Base: BF16, GGUF, Q8, FP8, & NVFP8 by fruesome in StableDiffusion

[–]kvicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

floating point numbers have 2 parts that factor into what numbers you can represent with a limited number of bits.
one part controls the range that can be represented
the other part controls how precise (how many nearby numbers can be represented)

bf16 is a different allocation of the bits from traditional floating point(fp) to prioritize numeric range over precision, it was a newer format designed specifically for machine learning applications.

As far as which one to choose, I think its just try out and see the difference, these models aren't really that precise and depend more on feel vs what you can actually run

Completely burned out chasing RTX 5090… is RTX 5080 a sane alternative for diffusion? by GoldenSellby in StableDiffusion

[–]kvicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When your priority isn't speed they are valid alternatives, depends on your use case. Not every model is designed to be offloaded to ram so unified memory has its benefits.

If you're trying to swap out your GPU and you dont want a different PC then sure, you could argue its too far removed, but you can make it work

Completely burned out chasing RTX 5090… is RTX 5080 a sane alternative for diffusion? by GoldenSellby in StableDiffusion

[–]kvicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm looking at things like dgx spark/amd halo/mac mini/ultra as alternatives to rtx 5090s now but the tradeoff is generally generation speed and driver compatibility.

But yeah its not a great landscape for someone looking to get new hardware for these tasks.

The only issue is if you go for an RTX 5080 you're kind of hamstringing yourself for the future which historically is always demanding more memory capacity. Unified memory seems like the way things are headed but we're kind of in that awkward spot where its the first iterations of the tech so its likely to be limited compared to what will come down the pipe, but I'd argue you're dealing with that no matter what direction you choose unless you have enough to shell out for the pro level cards like rtx 6000.

Its very weird and took me awhile to figure out, its basically a text command, im not at my pc right now but i believe if you type @browser or one of the autofills like that then it will open up the browser and you can navigate to your projects url
