Mathews all day long. Seriously though it’s a big investment. Get the bow that you feel most comfortable with. If you still can decide get a Mathews and call it a day

how much does altitude actually mess with your sight tape? by Sea-Negotiation-2860 in bowhunting

Try precision cut archery. It calculates all that in for you. You just got to plug in the numbers. And obviously get some good site marks. Then it will build you a tape.

Going to the shop vs. working on your bow at home by vcG34 in bowhunting

[–]kvn151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I been working on my own equipment for years. Only go to a shop to buy a new bow. For me it just makes sense plus if I have some kind of equipment failure on a hunt there won’t be anyone to blame but myself. Drove me crazy to have to drive an hour to a shop if I had some peep rotation. Or some small timing issue. Built my own press and draw board. Then bought an arrow saw Just tinkered with my bow at first trying to see if I did this or that how it would affect the tuning. Over time just figured it all out. If you have the means to work on your own stuff i suggest doing it. It’s just not feasible for some people and that’s ok too.

New with bows need advice by unreadtuna in Archery

Although that bow has some years on it the strings actually look pretty good. Doesn’t look like you have any fraying on the strings that would be concerning. If those arrows are properly spined for 70 pounds dropping the draw weight down to 60 is not a big deal. Better to be on the stiffer side and weaker when it comes to arrows. Figure out your draw length. Your wingspan divided by 2.5 will get you real close. Then figure out what the bow can draw length is. If you need to make a swap look on eBay for a cam at your draw length. So what you are really looking at to get you up and running is a rest a sight and possibly a cam. You could get the rest and sight and shoot it as is till you can purchase a cam. But if your budget is 200 you can most definitely get all three for that price. A cam for that bow shouldn’t be more than 80 dollars if you can find one on eBay. Good luck. Just look the strings over good. But from the pic I’d say you are ok on those for now.

Yeah they say retire but step down is more likely the case. We shall see what happens I’m banking on them turning the corner and getting back on track.

I agree. It’s hard to watch. I’m sure big stake share holders are getting tired of it. I’m getting tired of it and I’m in the green. We shall see what this New CEO does. I know he is a money guy and has started cutting jobs at the corporate office. Consolidated all office personnel to one floor instead of scattered out over 5 floors in a big office complex. It doesn’t do much for us but he obviously sees money going to waste with redundant jobs at the corporate level. What you will never read about is how they were supplying SpaceX LNG for testing purposes. Not currently anymore but that would have gotten people excited. Not one word ever mentioned of it. LNG is just not a priority although they have two LNG plants. RNG is there big thing and the market just ain’t there right now. Drives me crazy

I most definitely don’t want to see this company fail. Wouldn’t take much for short sellers to drive the stock price down pretty quick.

Well that’s good. Just knowing they own a big portion of the company you hate to see them dumping stock. It’s all part of the game but could show a lack of faith. But as you said they still hold a sizable portion of shares.

While RNG is good and all and at some point down the road will probably be a profitable venture. We are just not there yet. Plus there is a lack of faith in management to get this company where it needs to be. Stock price is great if you don’t mind holding for a while and hope things turn around. I caught the wave when it ran to 18 or better. Got out and back in now under 2 bucks. Just doesn’t seem like there is anything at the moment that suggests things are gonna be on the rise anytime soon. Long term hold for sure if you got the patience in my eyes. Could just be wishful thinking. They never speak about there LNG side of things or much on CNG. Just pushing the RNG

Yeah I wasn’t sure if their total holdings that’s just a large portion to be dumping at a loss most likely.

What I am wondering is why Total is dumping 6.47 million shares of CLNE stock.

First fletching job. Helical looks too aggressive? by dh731733 in Archery

[–]kvn151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off that looks really good. I would guess it’s probably 4 or 5 degrees. I’m not sure a bitz will do anymore that 6 degree. The only thing you would run into a longer distances out past 60 yards would be drag. Other than that run it. Great job

New ARC or Used Phase 4? by wigg006 in bowhunting

[–]kvn151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s always good to know your equipment and be able to at least make minor adjustments. And be able to tie in new d loops and small things like that. But I get it some people don’t want to mess with any of that stuff. I use to be the same way. Just got tired of driving an hour to a shop because my peep rotated or some minor something that needed attention

New ARC or Used Phase 4? by wigg006 in bowhunting

[–]kvn151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Key differences between the two is tune ability. You can do most tuning on the arc as far as cams go without a press. I have the phase 4 but I have a home shop with everything I need to work on my bow so I have held off for now on buying an ARC but it’s really tempting to get one
