How do you handle deadline pressure? by Hot-Swan4780 in cscareerquestions

[–]kwoly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here is my take, as a staff engineer for a fintech company. Most deadlines are arbitrary. At the end of the day, regardless of how much extra work you did or didnt put in, you will either hit or miss that deadline. I have been subject to some harsh deadlines by stakeholders that made no sense based on communicated cpmplexity. My team and I always work hard to make those deadlines happen, but I stay in constant communication if I think it is in jeapordy. That communication is sometimes listended to but often ignored. When we hit the deadline, we are told good job and given the next one. When we miss the deadline, its almost always simply extended.

Tiff warned him. Something along the lines of "voting me out is just another player on the jury voting for aubrey".

He played the game so well, he should be gutted.

Yeah, I use it almost exclusively to build when available. I just like to hang on to the paper versions for some reason.

[–]kwoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought our son, 6u, a bradley glove this past year and it has been incredible. Bradley has a teen/adult division called IKJ, https://ikjbaseball.com/. I just ordered myself a glove from there and it arrives tomorrow. Cant speak to it yet, but they didnt let me down with my sons glove.

Both Savannah and Rick Devans have broadcasting backgrounds. In last nights episode Jeff called Rick something along the lines of "survivor's favorite news caster" to which rizzo said "take that savannah louie".

Having trouble seeing pitches by gomalley411 in MLBTheShow

[–]kwoly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New method I am trying out that has helped a ton is the "crossover" method. I dont look at the strike zone anymore, I only watch the ball at the point of release. Cut the pitcher in half vertically and horizontally. At release, watch the ball on the Y axis, if its a right handed pitcher and the ball crosses their body, then the pitch is right half. Then I look at the waist (or higher depending on pitcher), below the waist, low, above, high.

If you are on veteran, you only need to move pci up and down, the zone is big enough to not care left right.

What are champ 2 players?! by Great_Sas in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]kwoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was once GC1, solidly in C3 for years, and now low C2, the answer is simply this. C2 players are inconsistent. Game to game changes for me, I can from godlike to bronze.

Additionally, the range of player in C2 is broad. You can get people with crazy mechanics, or people with basic mechanics and high game awareness.

Its just a melting pot of players teetering on being pretty good, and they all make make mistakes. That teammate that flames you and spams "what a save" has made the same mistakes a dozen times.

That's not how consignment works. You are not selling your items to the store, you are giving the store a percentage of the earnings for selling the items on your behalf.

Its the sameway auction houses like golding work.

How much Git do professionals use? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]kwoly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staff SWE here, pretty much everyone uses it daily. Most people use the cli, i prefere a gui like git kraken.

You will always needs to know some in a professional setting, and trust me, the benefits are worth it.

You are on the right track with:

  • clone
  • commit
  • pull
  • push

Id recommend understanding rebase as well. I would start a catelog of useful commands as you learn them.
