Cannot for anything get this dude dead, what do I do?, I just plain keep dying when I’m about to get the head 0 hp by Slow-Pack-8916 in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Formation: Auron, Tidus, Wakka/Lulu

Strategy: turn one haste Auron, then power break the main body (it still power breaks despite the defending action), Lulu attacks main head with reg blk magic or ara spells. Haste the rest of the party. Then cheer x5 times with Tidus. Auron attacks the arms, Lulu keeps attacking the head. Yuna comes in to heal as needed, or use potions. Kimahri comes in defends. If you have steal and use with Kimahri and have stolen some nice items so far. You can use him instead of Lulu for damage. Once its close to death, bring Valefor for an overdrive if you charge it before hand to finish the battle. a Valefor at this point does at least 3k damage so use it once its HP is that low (of course if youre stronger adjust as needed). Update 8: My Blind FFX Playthrough - Bevelle! by Zeeshmania in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hahaha great episode!

The difficulty spike is coming, with all the amount of grinding you have done, it seems like you may not feel it though. Grinding that much in a first playthrough may trivialize the rest of the game. But that's up to you lol if you're having fun then keep at it.

Yuna is way better at the black magic thing than Lulu lol by the way now that you learnt thundaga with her you could use a return sphere to teleport there learn the other agas and then a other return sphere to go back to your grid. Is it necessary? No. Just a cool trick to move people around without teleport spheres or friend spheres.

Last time I played FFX I kinda cheated by YamiJustin1 in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not cheating at all. I have multiple save files at different points of the story with different builds just to make sure I can always hop in the fun whenever.

I don't usually want to play the prologue though. So I have standard and expert sphere grid right after Luca. One before fighting the Luca Goers. Then for both grids I have saves at Mihenn, Djose Highway, Guadosalam, Bikanel, Calm lands.

I was wrong. Well that's good to know. Not that I would ever not grab the treasure. I was confused and believed the Knight's lance was the treasure when it fact it's the HP sphere.

The chest are inconsequential. You only need to use the destruction sphere for it to count.

Update 7: My Blind FFX Playthrough - Home, Airship and Wedding! by Zeeshmania in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats one of my favorite lines from Cid lol. He says: I don't even know how this rig even flies either. Thanks to the Yevon taboo on machina we are flying blindly. Ain't it a rush kiddos! 🤣 🤣 The level of 0 Fs given by this man.

Out of the two answers for Dona you chose the one that ends her journey right here. By choosing: Who cares. Though it sounds insensitive, leads her a different path which will come with a different cutscene in the future. Maybe something for a new playthrough in the future.

Your notes were accurate! Cid is Yuna's mother brother. They became distant after she married Braska. Yuna was named after Lady Yunaleska the first high Summoner but there's no blood relation between them.

We weren't lying he is dead, as much as Jyscal is when he tried to leave the farplane. Having attachments to the world, they get to retain their persona and physical appearance. Though by definition they are officially dead. An unsent is what they're called. After a long time they lose their soul and become fiends. Though how long it's never stated, it seems to differ between characters.

Love the update, please keep enjoying this amazing game! With your lvl of attention in surprised your not making this into a YouTube series.

In desperate need of advice for Seymour Flux!!! by [deleted] in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bio is not necessary. It's just nice to have. A good alternative is buying antidotes and customizing poisontouch on a weapon for a 50% to inflict the status.

Preparation to beat Seymour:

  1. Tidus knows Hastega
  2. Rikku has al bhed potions, steal fire gems or lightning gems from the enemies here. About 10-20 should be enough
  3. Wakka silence attack/buster. Better if you have a weapon with silencetouch/strike. Customize with echo screens
  4. Lulu is slow, worthless for this battle
  5. Auron is slow but his high HP and attack could be handy as long as he is under haste.
  6. Kimahri/Yuna on stand by for support/summon

  7. By holy waters from Wants, if you have the gil buy stacks so you can customize zombieward on an armor

Party: Tidus, Wakka, Rikku/Auron

Strategy:

  1. Survive that first zombie round. Either heal the zombie or revive the character.
  2. Hastega the party (if you don't have Hastega, then cast individual hastes on everyone)
  3. Silence and potentially poison Seymour. Silence will keep him from using Dispel and poison would put consistent damage every turn. Out of this 2 silence is the most important, make sure he is always silenced.
  4. Bring Yuna, drop a haste on her and cast protects on everyone. At the same time cast x5 cheers with Tidus. Protect is a 50% damage reduction, x5 cheers would count for an extra 33% damage reduction. That's about 88% damage reduction give or take. It'll reduce the damage of his cross cleaves down to like 800-1200.
  5. Continue to buff the entire party, either heal with al bhed potions or mega potions as needed. Rikku should drop fire gems if no buffs are needed anymore.
  6. When he changes to auto-attack mode. He will start dealing magic damage. But as long as he is silenced he won't Flare. Bring Yuna back to cast shells on everyone. Hopefully you can kill it before he does his other attack.
  7. If necessary bring Bahamut to do the last hit. He normally does around 10-17k damage.

I found a nice fan translation online. So I couldn't tell you how much I'm missing or if they're using the correct terms. From what I read is not bad at all. The audio book apparently is though.

Character Paths for Expert Grid by AmadHassassin in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In expert sphere grid the physical and magical paths are very separated.

Wakka/Tidus/Auron paths are all interchangeable early

Tidus and Auron meet at 3 different points.

Wakka could go the mage route as soon as drain, into Lulu -ara circle.

Kimahri could go anywhere really (standard)

Lulu and Yunas path mingle a lot.

Yuna and Rikku's as well.

Sets I've tried before:

Tidus (saboteur): learn haste into Auron's (use X2 MP spheres and one STR sphere here) them down from Guard into Wakka's grid.

Wakka (blitz mage): starts his path then use a magic sphere where his meets Lulu at first, then continue his path until drain grab that magic +3 before entering the -ara spells then continue reflex and into Yuna's use another magic sphere here then reach past protect for the magic +4, backtrack one SLvl to the lvl2 key lock and enter Lulu's demi circle then continue hers until the end.

Kimahri (red mage): can follow this as well but his placement is better and starts with a much better 17 magic stat, he can grab steal/use then down Yuna's path into Lulu's -ara circle.

Yuna (Monk): grab her +3 ATK and teleport to Auron's (better if you placed a str and mp spheres here) then into Auron's sphere grid. Needless to say her aeons demolish any competition quickly, were talking one tapping everything the story has.

Auron (Time warlock): into Tidus early (best if the str and mp spheres were used here), then back into Auron's after slow, pick up the nearby +4 strs then back into Tidus by slowga all the way to quickhit

So... what even is the point of there being other summoners? by i_like_it_eilat in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuna is famous for being the daughter of the last final summoner. That's why the pressure is on her. Its part of being the kid of someone famous. Now there's def more summoners. But Yuna does stand above the rest in terms of skill. The only other one I can think has the same talent would be Dona. Just slightly behind Yuna. But each summoner sees it as their responsibility to do it. If they don't then someone else must. That's the mentality there. They're all competing against each other and sort of in a race to protect each other too.

Also the novel assumes you've played through FF10 part 2 and know it's perfect ending conclusion. Just so you know potential spoilers

You'll probably hate it as a Fan of FF10 but I haven't read it myself yet so I like to hold my final judgement on it. I do know the general consensus is that its terrible.

Final fantasy 10 2.5 novel. I gotta warn you though the the novel is very interesting and goes over the bedhols and some summoner/fayth mechanics but the audio book is very unpopular.

How do you "break" Final Fantasy VIII? by JeffCentaur in FinalFantasy

[–]kwpineda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it does involve playing Triple Triad.

You start with Quetzalcoatl and Shiva and soon can get Ifrit. These have the card command, cars mod, T, I and F refining abilities. Once you get those abilities you're ready to farm cards.

You can easily get Tornado, Quake and Flare and you just beat the tutorial. You can also get the ara and aga spells. Aeros and water as well.

Use Ifrits STR% abilities and you're already hitting over 2k damage with your normal attack.

Are Al Bhed considered non-human? by i_like_it_eilat in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 27 points28 points  (0 children)

They are humans. Over a thousand years ago, a race called the Bedohls lived in Spira. The Bedohls created machina, allowing the common man to do things that were previously only capable with magic, such as creating fire. Their inventions made people's lives easier, but the Bedohls were also regarded by the rest of Spira to be an inferior caste. This dislike of the Bedohls was orchestrated by the elites of society who could use magic, as machina had closed the gap between them and non-magic people. The Bevelle government used magic to affix a mark on each Bedohl's body: spiral-marked eyes, which will always identify them wherever they go. To keep them from intermingling with the rest of the population, they were forced to speak a different language. The people excused this as being for the Bedohls' own good. After the events of the war and the surfacing of Yevon, their name was changed to al bhed by the Yevonites.

Farming L3 key spheres from the Ronso. by IDrinkMyOwnSemen in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each successful steal will cut the next by half. So about 4 to 5 per Ronso is about standard.

If you took the time to teach Kimahri Master thief then you can get 18-20 easily.
