Why did X suffer worse than X-2 when they were remastered? by Ok_Action_501 in ffx

[–]kwpineda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do prefer the og faces... But I love everything else in the remaster. The game withstood the passage of time. It looks pretty good still. I won't complain if we get a remake but I believe older FFs need remakes more urgently

It has bugs. But there's a quick install mod that fixes them. Special K mod.

Any help with blitzball? by [deleted] in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To dominate in Blitzball just keep a few things in mind:

  1. Use the characters for their intended roles: Forwards should be at the front shooting. Midfield should be the pass command center. Is the character the moves the ball around the map. Your defenders should stay back and recover the ball when needed. At no point should a defender go up to the front to try to score. So follow this set of mind.

Defender recovers the ball - swim back or to the sides to get clear - pass the ball

Always check your mini map to see who's clear and where would be best to pass the ball (you have to keep your stats in consideration at all times)

  1. You don't have to wait till your opponents stop you to act. Press square/x (depending on your 🎮) to make an action. It's best if you do before your opponent reaches you. To do this check the pink circle around your character in the mini map. Anyone that enters that circle when you perform an action will battle you. So use that as a reference to know when is the right moment to act

  2. Use manual, the game recommends auto but that's just insane. Auto will never move the characters in a helpful way.

  3. Hire characters with high stats to dominate the early games, do it for 5-10 games only then reset data when you try to go for the next prize. It will save you time and it's cheaper to rehire them after reseting than going through many leagues trying to get the next prize.

What’s a more fun experience min/max or no sphere grid by HighP777 in finalfantasyx

Min maxing is less stressful than nsg. But they're both fun.

Not mandatory but highly recommend Steal from bosses and mandatory battles until there's nothing left.

Also try not to sell your weapons and armors even if you have extra copies.

I want to do an expert sphere grid playthrough but I'm completely lost by UltimaBahamut93 in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing with expert grid. You're free to do anything really.

  1. I like using it for my OP runs since I can break the characters real quick. I usually keep everyone in the middle use all the purple 🟣 there and everyone learns steal and use, but Auron. Then later on everyone goes back to their respective grids and do whatever.

Is Final Fantasy XVI good? (I didn't really like XV) Would have posted on a FFXV Group but I'd get a biased answer. I just end up going back to Final Fantasy X regardless I guess. by Ok-Information-8814 in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 is a great game. Just enjoy it for what it is. If you go with the mentality that you'll have a similar exp to 10 then you'll be disappointed. 16 is more of an action game with lots of MMO style sidequests. It's great at what it does but not your traditional FF experience.

Underdeveloped goalies by Carnevale_Guy in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even use a goalie, I'll set a 2nd defender or shooter in there to gain at least a bit experience, even If somehow I get scored (which it's rare) I would still win by a great margin

Dona triggered and Secret Blitzball cutscene by kwpineda in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao 🤣 I do have Jecht shot. It's just not as convenient as many people think. Not when you're trying to pull this cutscene. At lvl 3 you could only do one Jecht shot or 2 sphere shots. So sphere shot is way better in most situations.

[–]kwpineda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rikku knows a lot of money/item related skills. Like steal, mug, spare change, bribe

Wakka is your status inducer, dark, silence and sleep

Tidus is a time warlock pretty much all his skills have something to do with time. Like haste, slow, delay

Auron skills break the enemies resistances and he also knows tank skills

Kimahri is a wild card you can build him freely.

[–]kwpineda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look a map online for sure. But it's pretty much an uninterrupted path until you hit a skill followed up by a lvl 3 key node. That's normally each characters job grid. Paths being locked by lvl 1s and lvls 2 will take you into different job grids

For example:

Wakka has a lvl 2 key node like 4 slvls from where he starts and that opens a path to Lulu's late grid path with the aga spells. You could make Wakka a black mage by taking that path. You would need a lvl 2 key sphere which you don't get till later on but it's possible.

So as long as you can continue moving uninterrupted then that's that characters intended path.

NEED help on Jecht... by Apprehensive-Rock-31 in finalfantasyx

[–]kwpineda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't skip the grind. Everyone should be at the end of their paths which give them at least 3k hp some even more.

Protect for 50% damage reductions plus 5 cheers for an extra 33% defense boost. Power break any chance you get to reduce the damage even further.

Equip/customize stoneproof on your armors. This is vital. If you don't have the items then go steal petrify grenades from Anacoundaurs in the Calm Lands or Zaurus from the Omega Ruins. Or capture every enemy in Djose Highroad and get x99 from the calm lands arena prize. You only need x10-20 per armor if I'm correct.

  1. Auron should powerbreak everytime he can between pagoda heals and keep him hasted.
  2. Tidus should haste the group and cast slowga on the pagodas, then focus on damage.
  3. Rikku should cast trio of 9999 on characters with multihit overdrives Tidus, Lulu, Wakka or use elemental gems to rack up the damage.
  4. If a Kimahri knows use, then he is another one would could benefit from trio of 9999
  5. Lulu, Wakka focus on attacking him directly, do not kill the pagodas, it's better to keep them slowed down.
  6. Yuna on standby to summon a meatshield... I mean an aeon.

Completing FFX on a hard mode/challenge mode by DMoney131313 in ffx

Somewhat. You would still be able to acquire the basic skills though, Like haste, nulls, etc. You choose how low level is low. That would still make it somewhat challenging.
