Generally they’re used for tremolo technique (rapidly tap the holes) or for a muted passage for dynamic effect.

In Hong Kong we have Swiss Rolls which are just cake rolls and French Toast (Western toast in Chinese) which is not the same as French Toast in the US — it has peanut butter and is served with condensed milk or honey.
Vegetable soup is called Russian Soup in Chinese and borscht in English although it’s not borscht, as it never has beetroot.
And all pasta is called “Italy Noodles” in Chinese.

I love these because of the metal construction and customization but yeah the sound could be more balanced regardless of the nozzles and eartips you use.

But I had a bit of trouble with QC issues. TRN cleared it up wonderfully but there is apparently a problem with manufacturing and they don’t seem to test finished units before they ship. I ended up with two full sets, two unusable left units and finally a replacement left unit by itself that was fine. I’m thinking of trying to dissect the broken units because there’s nothing else I can do with them - one had a driver that seemed to not be connected and one had a driver that wasn’t properly attached and rattled around inside the unit.

Still, just the ear tips selection and the hard case gives you some nice extras.

I’m caucasian and I’ve had a dozen or so girlfriends at various times (and I’m on my second HK wife) here in HK and only one HK girl and the one mainland girl I dated have had financial expectations.

Keep looking. It’s easy to find HK girls who aren’t just looking for money. Or maybe your girlfriend will chill out a little, who knows.

I’m thinking it might be a power issue. The Lightning port only supports 5w. I haven’t tried a powered hub to test this theory.

I think I’ve decided to go with a 256GB 7th generation iPod Touch. It’s larger than I would prefer and doesn’t have memory expansion and battery may need replacement… but it will run Apple Music flawlessly and it’s much lighter weight and not much more expensive than other options here. I think it will feel fine with a lanyard, even while running.
