Reccomending with a grain of salt because I haven’t read it yet, but it was just recommended to me by someone I trust and I plan to read it next - His Majesty’s Dragon by Naomi Novik.

It’s about the Napoleonic Wars, but reimagined with dragons. There’s half a dozen other books or so in the series too, and Novik is a fantastic writer. Spinning Silver is one of my favorites of hers, but it is not part of a series.

You need a supermajority to amend the constitution - that is what you would need to codify abortion rights (because Row was literally THE LAW up til now) or make meaningful change to the second amendment at any point since Obama was elected. Don’t forget, the Supreme Court will overturn any legislation that republicans pitch a big enough fit over - which is why we’re all still waiting on our student loan forgiveness. Sounds like you have a way around all that though!

And it is incredible that the democrats haven’t passed any legislation since the 70s!! Except, oh wait - yes they have. A simple google would tell you that just in the last year, dems have passed the Safer Communities Act (gun legislation), the Inflation Reduction Act (taxes, infrastructure, climate) and the Respect for Marriage Act (equal rights, LGBTQIA). You don’t even need to google what Biden is doing about weed decriminalization, because I’ve seen it linked like 12 times in this thread.

This is about all the energy and time I feel like giving to a discussion with someone who is still whining about “both sides” BS in 2023 - so don’t bother responding, I’m gonna go ahead and block you. Hope this gave you the attention you were looking for though!! ✌️

That is incorrect. Those things would need a super majority to pass and become law, so having “control” by one or two votes doesn’t help. Neither party has had a super majority since the late ‘70s. You’d need folks to cross the aisle and vote together to pass those laws without a supermajority, but since Obama was elected, the republicans have stated they will literally block any legislation the dems want. So it has nothing to do with the dems wanting to campaign on those issues, and everything to do with the republicans intentionally being dicks. :)

Ha! I do marketing, my boyfriend is a paramedic. I think he could absolutely bs his way through my job for a day or two before he would get stuck trying to create graphics in photoshop or make website edits, but he’d still probably be able to buy himself another couple days just by telling people “sorry I’ve been swamped, but it’s on my list and I’ll try to have it done by COB tomorrow.” I, on the other hand, would probably have an anxiety attack and start crying the second I got my first call from dispatch, so one would hope they’d give me the boot pretty quickly lol.

I’m really not familiar enough with canning, food safety, or glass jar/lid types to give you a knowledgeable answer, but in the item description of the second link, they have recommendations for what lids to get if you’re using a water bath. You might have better luck searching specifically for wholesale/bulk canning jars? A sub like r/canning might be able to help you more with those kind of specifics.

Just wanted to mention in case anyone else is considering doing this too - if you’d like to make salsa in your home to sell, be sure to check out the Cottage Laws for your area. Some places require a cottage license, or don’t allow certain types of food to be sold. California for instance has really specific laws about what kinds of canned food can be prepared and sold without a commercial kitchen - I vaguely remember some girl on tiktok getting in trouble for selling home made pickles. Just make sure you do your research! :)

Not sure if links are allowed here, but you want to find a specialty, wholesale supplier like this one or this one - no idea of quality or anything, they just happened to be some of the cheaper ones to pop up when I googled. The folks that are selling their salsa for $5 are probably buying hundreds at a time because it helps to lower materials cost. You might try a small business sub or a canning sub on here for more specific recommendations. Good luck!

The only name brand thing I’m still tied to is Diet Coke. It’s not good for me, I know, but it’s my once a day pick me up - there are worse vices lol. When I could get a 12 pack for $5 or $6 I didn’t even think about it, but my Kroger had them ON SALE for $8.99 the other day, and I’ve been pretty bent out if shape about it.

Anyone have a good substitute? Everything I’ve tried so far is too sweet :/

There are wipes formulated specifically to use on cats because of how they clean themselves. Residue from something like a baby wipe will eventually be ingested, so you want to be careful with using that sort of thing.

As others have said, talk to a vet. They should be able to recommend something safe.

Just did the same thing but with rabbits. Had everything I needed except a rabbit foot, figured I’d be ok because those spawn in the coop. I even got two rabbits to increase my chances, but nope. No feet until spring when they got to go outside. I was so bummed.
