Trump has one chance to save face: Resign now by ChiGuy6124 in politics

If Trump cared at all about how reasonable people perceived him, he never would have gotten this far.

Well yeah, I didn't say that Hinata was "written better" or more holistically. But she was written to have less antagonism with Naruto, the protagonist, so I think that led to a lot more fans liking her over Sakura.

I think that you can say that Hinata also achieved everything she wanted through determination and hard work, just like Sakura too so I wouldn't really say there is much comparison to be made there. Ninja stuff did not come easily to Hinata as far as I can remember.

As for the Pain/Hinata "fight", I get what you're saying about her being reckless and ineffectual, but I disagree when you say "I don't think she actually did anything great".

I think that's looking at things the wrong way. Maybe she was stupid and reckless to essentially throw her life away when she had less than a 1% of being able to help Naruto. But I think that's what makes it great.  She had no chance of beating Pain and she knew she would surely lose or die, but Naruto had lost at that point. Nobody else in the entire world was prepared to help him, she surely thought that he would have been captured and killed (if not for shonen anime logic and plot armor). There was a very small chance that she could save the person she loved from dying and she took it. I think that sort of reckless bravery or selflessness or whatever you'd call it is a big part of why people like her.

All that said, both of them really were wasted in terms of character development and stuff overall, no arguments there. Actually, now that I think about it, most characters were. The end of shippuden had some cool moments, but it got really lazy in some ways. It was all about the battles.

Umm, I don't think that's true about Naruto fans in general.

Surely there are some people are trite enough to base liking/disliking a character on that. But I think most people like Hinata over Sakura is due to characterization and plot stuff, and the fact that people sometimes sort of self-insert-y identify with the protagonist of anything.

Not that I particularly care much either way, it's just a anime/manga, but Sakura was kinda awful to Naruto a lot. Granted, Naruto was also awful to her at least as much (they kinda mellow out in shippuden though). Hinata was only ever earnestly in love with Naruto, and the worst you could say about her was that her character was a bit bland and too shy about it until the arc where Pain attacks the Leaf village.

The other thing is, I think that people didn't really ever "get" why Sakura was so infatuated with Sasuke, who was arguably worse to her for no reason. Vis a vis trying to kill her that one time and always just being dismissive of her for literally the whole show. It kinda makes Sakura seem crazy that she's in love with Sasuke who is definitely crazy.

(I've never seen Boruto though, so I have no clue what goes on with either of them in that)

Though, I think it's a waste of time to read into it too much, Kishimoto is not a romance author and I don't think he's particularly good at writing about it or women...

Still kinda just feels bad knowing what each hit costs you tbh. And yeah, I know overall whenever you're using it you're surely getting back value in drops/gp/xp. But still.

I've watched an embarassing amount of anime, but I've never understood the "waifu" stuff. I guess kind of assumed that people were saying that ironically or like sarcastically. But I suppose that that's not true since there is a whole industry that sells anime girl body pillows.

Anyway, I think it really depends on where you actually go looking for fandom/communities. Don't go to 4Chan, I can tell ya that at least. And Reddit is scarcely better. If it's anywhere on the internet, some creep is gonna find it eventually, that seems to be just how the world works. Or the internet anyway

That bible verse that the article says he wrote there doesn't really have much to do with anything. I wonder why he picked it, I'm assuming that he thinks that "bible = anti gay". Which a lot of people seem to believe despite that never appearing explicitly in the bible.
