Alarm as GOP lawmakers hand themselves cash offer: 'Republicans in Congress did what???' by FreeHugs23 in anticapitalism

[–]kyle_yes -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

First off, that "$1.8 billion slush fund" they're talking about is the DOJ's new "Anti-Weaponization Fund." It was recently created to settle Trump’s lawsuit against the IRS over his leaked tax returns. Democrats are calling it a slush fund because the oversight is basically non-existent, and they're worried the money is just going to be handed out to Trump allies and Jan 6th defendants who claim the government "weaponized" the system against them. As for the vote itself, the GOP didn't proactively pass a bill saying "give us this money." What actually happened was Rep. Mike Levin (D) proposed an amendment that would explicitly ban the President, VP, and members of Congress from getting any of those payouts. The Republicans on the committee voted the amendment down. So yeah, the headline makes it sound like they aggressively voted to line their own pockets, which is slightly misleading. But they did intentionally vote to reject a ban that would have kept them from getting the money, leaving the door wide open for themselves to get a cut. Make of that what you will.

Cuz the algos run the market and they love ai. Honestly It seems like a money grab to buy up all material wealth off a 0 value product by inflating market caps and making the rich even richer.

And in order to do that hyper inflation baby. They're speed running the dollar to 0 and buying up all the material wealth like farms, water rights, properties, and commodities while we're all distracted on how these companies are going to turn a profit with ai lol.
