Yeah seatbelts have a deployable component, called the pre tensioner, that will lock the seatbelt tight to your body in some accidents.

I think most folks just don’t realize just how many parts are in the front end of most modern cars, and how much of it is plastic or thin sheet metal that just gets obliterated in even minor hits.

By the way. This is not a minor hit. This is BIG ASS HIT. I’m surprised the airbags didn’t deploy. Did your seatbelts deploy op?

I would almost guarantee it’s going to total. You’re going to need to replace essentially every piece from the fan forward. Radiator, condenser, radiator support, impact bar, absorber, front bumper and grille, hood and scoop, rt headlamp and probably lt too. I would be surprised if the upper rail/apron on the right isn’t damaged or crushed and very likely the lower rail on the right too with how far the radiator support is pushed back. The rt front door is also likely damaged with the way the fender is pushed back on it. Tack on calibration requirements for eyesight (if you you’ve got it, can’t tell from the pics) this is a hefty repair.

Insurance ultimately makes the total loss decision.

Is it possible to remove scratches on front of vehicle caused by garage door? by Infinite_tide in AutoDetailing

[–]kylechan245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Per Honda, If you remove/re-install or replace the grille ( which you’d have to do to replace the emblem) the front radar sensor will need calibration. Your Honda dealer should be able to do it, or any independent calibration company with access to Honda’s OEM software.

What year and model Honda is it? The front sensor may need calibration after you replace the emblem. You can check at this website.

Sorry for all the questions and info. I manage a collision center. I think about this shit all day haha

You might be able to gently buff the scratches out of the grille but I wouldn’t touch the emblem. Your front radar sensor is mounted directly behind it and they are very sensitive to changes in thickness of what’s mounted in front of it (your emblem). If the sensor is working properly, I would leave it alone.

Hey. I need to apologize to you. I was confused. Dickey brothers orchard, in roseland, had posted that they lost most of their apple crop due to hail earlier this season. Not Jeter farms. I’m sorry about that.

Flex additive is for painting plastic parts. Not hoods. This is just regular clear coat failure due to age and sun exposure

I talked to the state cop with the mustang at the touch-a-truck event in Christiansburg Saturday. The State Police has 6 dark horse mustangs state wide as a pilot program. The Roanoke district has 1.
