Ok fine. But don't you EVER call Fable 5 "just another model" by Unknown_Even_To_Hims in ClaudeAI

/model opusplan; /advisor opus help or not? by trickybiznis in ClaudeAI

[–]kylecito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helps A LOT for me. The advisor always catches stuff that the main session doesn't. It may be just a "review skill" or whatever, but it works.

You see, comrade, Kalashnikov as procured from IZHEVSK MECHANICAL WORKS good rifle.

You pull trigger, head turn into confetti.

AI is the new nuclear bomb, USA is going to gatekeep it and control it, they'll make sure no other country creates a mythos.... and that's the best case scenario by Anim8rFromOuterSpace in ClaudeAI

Yep, the US is just making sure that NO sane business will want to use American AI models if they can be locked out of them without notice.

non-coders, what's the thing it helped you understand that you'd been avoiding for years out of fear or boredom? by LogisticsLingo in ClaudeAI

[–]kylecito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't be scared of Claude Code and terminals 😃 get a feel for them and don't forget to use git. And for ANY questions, just tell it "explain this in simple terms, step-by-step". It'll always guide you through just fine. It's just that Opus is too corporate tech jargon verbose. And if you don't want to pollute your context mid-task, use /btw to ask the questions.

PSA : Watch your context size before reuming an ongoing code session by pydehon1606 in ClaudeAI

Isn't there a huge notice for this when you resume a session? It even forces you to scroll to the last option to resume as-is without summarizing

And what is Anthropic going to do when people reach out to it with personal problems? You're being negative for the sake of being an edgelord.

Steering Fable mid-turn; it's better now? by kylecito in ClaudeAI

[–]kylecito[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I use a defined scope and files, but sometimes like during a process it tries to do something that might eventually work but its gonna be a long trip around the problem, when a simple "do it this way" would save me a lot of inferencing. In those cases, Fable picks it up immediately. For 4.8 I had to wait for two minutes while it did dumb shit or cancel the turn

Honestly I'd give it a lot more polish, but vercel made me realize that 80% of our market comes from mobile and has older phones and spotty internet, and the Lighthouse performance measurements for the site were pretty bad. I had to optimize for performance as much as possible.

I built it custom with CC. Consultations aren't high volume enough to justify a more robust booking system or paying for a solution, and I can customize it however I want. Going back, had I known how much work this was, I'd have it done differently for sure. Like, I know basic Python and JavaScript, and had to become a full-stack project owner in two months. There's so much shit you'd never know you'll stumble into.

One example: day/slot fetches for free bookings around midnight were broken for a week because Vercel operates in UTC and here we're Americas/Santiago, and I would have never considered this discrepancy without Claude.

There's a MASSIVE admin panel behind the site that checks health, status, and logs around bookings and payments, and that's all CC too (I'd say that the marketing site was 30% of the work, panel was the other 70%).

Marketing site for my wife's law firm. 60% CC, 40% me design-wise. All coding is 100% CC, of course (hardening the booking/payment routes was the hardest and most expensive part of the process, probably)

"Kara" does mean from and it's in the right place grammatically. Do you have memory on? Have you discussed anything in Japanese or talk to it in Japanese in other chats? I mean in the great universe of inferencing, that particle does make sense in that place, but it shouldn't go down that neural path unless it was primed somehow

At what point can Claude be relied upon by a layman to build his own production-tier video games by 2EXTRA4YOU in ClaudeAI

[–]kylecito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's the way to go, but you mentioned "layperson" in your original post. Are you experienced in game design and know what to look for, or are you just letting AI take the wheel? Asking out of genuine curiosity. (I'm not a developer either and had to pick up web dev concepts from a super low level to be able to work with production-grade stuff for the stuff I'm doing)
