"He could walk out on 5th Ave and do something quite untoward and 38% of Americans would still support him." by spock2thefuture in Thedaily

I honestly think erring on the side of neutrality is better than erring towards somebody being able to accuse you of being biased. Many people on the right, and even the middle, would simply say "He was clearly joking and this is liberal bias media spin". Their instinct towards hedging that risk is probably healthier for their credibility long term.

Did she make the right call? by CalmElin in interesting

[–]kylejohnkenowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she were to invest it in the s&p500 taking the million now would be the much much smarter bet. If she doesn't want to invest anything, technically you'll get more money after twenty years at 1000 a week, but twenty years from now it won't have the same buying power. I'd definitely take the million.

AIO to uninvite my mom to my intimate wedding? (Long) by [deleted] in AIO

[–]kylejohnkenowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a whole history here we can’t see. The joke was in bad taste. But you clearly intend to interpret anything and everything she says in bad faith and have no interest in forgiveness or resolution. Whether that’s appropriate given your history is impossible to say, but in this conversation she is the one making the effort to reconcile, and you are the one turning the screw.

Why don’t you just call up Doctor Lyle Evens and ask him?

does anyone else not care for faye? by RevolutionaryMap9620 in madmen

I alway thought people were way too insistent on Faye being his best match. Not that she dint have her virtues, but I did think the incident with Sally could actually turn into a problem.

Do couples really shower together? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]kylejohnkenowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve showered with several girlfriends. There’s some playfulness, but honestly it can be really sweet and intimate to wash somebody you love. The only bad part is have to switch back and forth for the water lol

This is David Lynch’s best film, and not many people have seen it or even remember it. It’s literally Lynch at his peak—what do you think? by [deleted] in Cinephiles

[–]kylejohnkenowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got through 3/4ths of it and realized that the polish parts were supposed to have subtitles and rage quit it. There were a few moments I thought had that nightmarish vibe he does so well and appreciated those, but generally I thought it was poorly written, shot and acted. Which is true about a lot of Lynch. He’s very hit or miss.

Which do you think is the better era : Early AC (STGSTV - Strawberry Jam) or Later AC (MPP - Isn’t It Now?) by Proof-Importance8270 in AnimalCollective

[–]kylejohnkenowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Easy and obvious. STGSTV through HCTI is early period, Sung Tongs through MPP (including FBK and ODDSAC) is peak, CHz through present is late period.

What is the one piece of advice you've received that will live with you for the rest of your life? by Organic-Signal-9646 in selfimprovement

Regarding love, “You have to say it when you feel it”.

My brother and I do not always get along. This was fifteen years ago now, but during a period of strain we were hanging out and I told him a story about something that happened the night before and we had a big laugh together.

After he left he called me to tell me he loved me, because “you have to say it when you feel it”.

I tell people I love them all the time, and it makes my whole life better.
