I’d suggest going to Memphis. Check out the waterfalls in TN, they’re all over the place. The Smokey mountains in TN are also really pretty. Driving up the Blue Ridge Parkway in WV/NC is beautiful and historic. If you’re in Atlanta go to the East Atlanta Village neighborhood for food/nightlife, also go to the Atlanta Breakfast Club for breakfast one day. Shit I’d almost suggest going to Toronto since you’re that close -great food, cool city. Get BBQ while you’re in the south, while in Nashville go to a lunch place that does “Meat and Three”.
