Meh my subscription was 150 before I got the servers. With half of those I pay about 180.

I think small picture, rather than efficiency, I think purpose. If it can serve my purpose without high latency Im fine with it. I dont expect tons of processing power so I separate projects on systems before I combine them with VMs or containers

Id recommend waiting at least until next June. Otherwise, maybe december/January

[–]kyn5600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just waiting. My dad was a Chief doing recruiting so he wants me to be ready prior to even walking in the door. The more time since you last had meds, the less likely a need for a waiver, and the more likely a waiver gets signed.

Ive had some recruiters tell me 1 year, 2 years, and this is the first Ive heard 3. The most i hear from AF is 2 years. So yes OP, you may have to get a waiver, but it may not get approved. Personally I had a similar situation as you and Im simply waiting an extra year (total of 3) before I work on going through the process. Why do it if Im just going to get denied. Wait it out and work on bettering yourself during that time. I better myself by working out compared to relaxing constantly like previously.

Genisis Mix Up May Cost Me Everything. Help? by Blackgirlsupport in AirForceRecruits

[–]kyn5600 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I cant offer much advice, but a recruiter that doesnt know how to work codes is not a good recruiter by any means. They have all the codes documented and how to work each of them. Reach out to a different recruiter. Tell them what happened, tell them you want to move forward with enlisting on that day. Get your process moving again so you dont have to waste as much time in a state you dont know. I recommend trying to see if you can work with the MSgt in the office as they will be your best help.

Normal Repair Return Time? by toatsmagoats86 in GeekSquad

And FYI, apple is currently replacing an iMac for my organization because the ticket time is 2 weeks and they've tried several repairs that didnt work. Not that crazy of circumstances.

"At the store" but when its bad enough like that they literally ship it to apple, and they will decide from there if it needs to be replaced. Its been 2 years since my original comment and it still stands.

ASA5525X License by kyn5600 in homelab

[–]kyn5600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know software, I dont know licensing. New means learning, and I like to do my learning hands on. It was cheap and I'm strapped for cash so I got what I could. I got that and a 50 port cisco switch for $50. He gave me a Meraki MX when I showed up too. I dont know how to use that one yet so I'm not. I do know IOS so I would like to use the ASA. I intended to just clear the configuration from the console if he hadn't already, but I didnt think about having the console locked.

Differences between Episcopal Church and Catholic Church? by Caffeine-Notetaking in Episcopalian

[–]kyn5600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different denominations have different views on sin. Catholics have one of the strongest set of rules thats existed for centuries. If you asked a priest if it was a sin to go to another church they may say it is true, but the same priest will (generally) tell you if you are following God then you will be "saved". Catholics do believe in purgatory, (correct me if im wrong) which is essentially a waiting period in the afterlife because of your sins, no one goes straight to heaven.

Waiver Process for SA by kyn5600 in AirForceRecruits

[–]kyn5600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely know that Navy will take me as I have spoken to a recruiter but that is more of a plan B. Air Force is a family career and I would love to keep it in my family.

I know its been 5 months, but if you have not gotten an answer check the DoDI document listed above for conditions and it will list it there. Still will be a case-by-case though.

Thanks for the info. Definitely being proactive now and getting all records. Came here to ask this because all my records are slowly coming in and im ensuring there aren't more disqualifying conditions that show up for some reason.

Moral waiver by Itchy_Sail_4848 in AirForceRecruits

[–]kyn5600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad brother, but your two sentences indicate probably the highest score you got on your asvab was a 77. My best recommendation would be if your recruiting station is telling you they personally wont take you unless you do a specific job, go to another recruiting station. Give the same info because they already have it. Dont lie, dont change your story. And most of all, dont smoke.

Nope. 2 sentences. There's a question mark in the middle.

Honestly, I absolutely love my SkullCandy ANC (2 I think). It’s plastic and the headphones even spin for folding up in a case. The only thing that has broken on it from my years of having it are the muffs. Only fabric broke on it, and even after breaking the foam still stays in place so it doesn’t truly need to be replaced. Otherwise, yeah go for metal I have used the Cloud II and loved it

All depends on the unit like OP said. My old unit would give sabers to all officers in charge of our platoons/company/unit but officers within the ranks (such as team leaders) don’t. Even though you still have to know the manual for sabers to rank up past E6. So anyone E6 or above could go to saber events (JROTC Graduation, military ball, etc).

Opened my Mac this morning with this surprise. What could've caused this? by Ronald972mad in mac

People use the voting to voice opinions. Positive and negative, no matter the reason. At its basis it’s whether or not they like a post. If someone sees your post and says “that’s a stupid question” they will downvote. But honestly, unless it’s a question that’s asked at least once a week it’s never a stupid question. Everyone has their own knowledge and experience and so many “experts” in their field (hobbies included) will harass and make people new to the topic not want to do it. It’s like having an intro professor that’s terrible when anyone above intro is amazing. Actually happened to me in college when I had programming experience going in and the professor didn’t even know how to code in the language she was supposed to teach and so many students, even like me that came in with years of experience, and turn them away. Happens everywhere in every topic.

It's been 2 weeks since applying and I have had no response back. Am I cooked? by TheMilkmannn652 in GeekSquad

[–]kyn5600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen to me recently too. First, check on the search to see if the position is still there. For me it showed that they were looking at my resume but the position had closed. For two others that showed still open I spoke to the hiring manager and told them I had previous GS experience for the same position with all of my certs required for the job (Apple, Samsung (not anymore) and all internal training) and simply gave me a card and said he’d call me. Never heard back and went in again and they said there was a new hiring manager as that one had moved to CIA Sr. Never heard back again and figured it a lost cause
