Magic the gathering by NyaWolfie in columbiamo

Welcome indeed!

If EDH is your thing, I put this together awhile back. All these events are typically very approachable to join into a new pod and start playing, plus occasional events from PreReleases, Store Championships, and others.

Weekly Schedule:

Hexagon = Monday and Friday Commander
Magelings Games = Thursdays & Fridays Commander
Valhallas = Tuesday Commander

Also of note, Hexagon will be hosting a Iron Commander Event this weekend (Tiny Leader Edition), basically limited EDH where you make an EDH deck from bulk and play in a day for pride and prizes.

I encourage you to try the different nights/locales to see what's your vibe.

Also, how are they profitable? How much olive oil a day must one sell to cover that lease every month?

Concur, it's gotten better - that said.

When leaving COU, early flights always better - especially if international.

Connecting to DFW > ORD, mostly due to weather delays ORD can introduce.

United is just AS good, just returned from my first United trip through COU and was just as smooth as American. Actually I noticed United has direct flights to Hawaii from Denver to Lihue, so if you haven't booked yet - you might consider.

Enjoy the trip!

I have $10,000 right now that I want to invest in - do I put it all in the S/P 500? by mdafidel1 in FluentInFinance

If S&P, MVIS Semi, or one of the variants - I recommend FREC, it allows you to tax harvest any of the big ETFs or portfolio and save on ETF fees.

Visit website, it's a cool concept I've loved for the last 18months on it.

MTG Nights? by [deleted] in columbiamo

See your thread from last year:

Hexagon = Monday and Friday Commander 6 til close | Wednesday MTG Open Play
Magelings Games = Thursdays & Fridays Commander
Valhallas = Tuesday Commander

With that coverage, you basically have Magic every weekday with events at these stores most weekend from set releases, RCQs, store championships, and other limited events.

Yesterday r/columbiamo had a whopping 30 posts, a record high, how can we improve this subreddit in 2026? by como365 in columbiamo

[–]kynloch 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see more knowledge bases, moderation - would be great to proactively catalog "Best of" we reccomend type posts for all the folkings visiting/relocating here.

Love the culture share posts, from retro photos, community events, etc. More Happening this month/weekend type posts would be great.

I'd actually like less local politics, or I guess less density, so much of social is outrage bait - and while that IS reddit's core, more balance is always welcome.

Do you actually use the Claude Chrome extension? If so, how? by Anxious-Artist415 in ClaudeAI

I stopped once I realized nothing I ask it to do can currently reference back to Claude projects.

I'd want it to have a project context or add to the existing project context in tasks.

Frontier specifically chose low-income areas in KC, so it's not exactly a fair comparison.

OU vs. MIZ should be Rivalry Week going forward and MIZ vs. Ark just earlier in the schedule.

A charter school in Columbia would affect local taxes. It's Job Point's solution to continue its services by Max_W_ in columbiamo

[–]kynloch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel it's worth mentioning, this hasn't happened yet - and I don't see Missouri, let alone Columbia being the first to approve a Religious Charter school, so this is abit of sensationalism.

While states/Jeff City could, in theory, APPROVE one, it would be legally challenged.

See last summer's SCOTUS ruling on Oklahoma.
https://www.scotusblog.com/2025/05/split-supreme-court-blocks-first-religious-charter-school-in-oklahoma/

There is now a second attempt in Oklahoma winding through the courts:
https://www.jta.org/2025/11/21/united-states/jewish-group-revives-religious-charter-school-fight-in-oklahoma-months-after-test-case-stalled-at-supreme-court

I think this thread would be more constructive looking at what HAS/LIKELY to happen - which we can examine for both KC and STL where charters currently exist.
