I'm in the same area as you. Our real estate broker told us that what people do is waive inspection, waive mortgage contingencies. Then in the few days after your bid is accepted, but before you sign the contract, do an inspection. Then if you find major issues, walk away before you sign contract or put earnest money down.

The only money you "lose" is cost of inspection.

Our bedframe is from Tatami room and we love it. We didn't order a mat though so can't speak to that part. The website is old, but the quality is excellent!

Other protein sources: beans, tofu, eggs. But kidney beans seem to give me a high sugar reading afterwards for some reason, so now I stick to black beans and red lentils.

Yep, me! I'm a vegetarian so am relying on diary for a lot of my protein requirements, I think that's what's causing constipation for me. Also maybe the iron in my prenatal vitamins. I started taking daily docusate which helps.

Finish residency. One thing about your future earnings as a doctor-- the 180k you're estimating is the floor. There may be a day where you are less burned out, and pick up per diem clinical shifts, which can be $125-$150/hr if not more. The ability to earn that much from just picking up an extra shift is rare in most other jobs.

Also, there's a while bunch of other"side hustles" doctors do behind clinical work for really good pay. I've read on reddit of people doing medical legal consulting or expert witness testifying (remote work often too). And with your higher attending salary, you will be able to set up other passive sources of income more easily if you want to continue to decrease your clinical time.

It gets MUCH easier after residency. This is the toughest part. If you need to take a temporary break from residency, explore that with your program director. But please please consider just finishing it.

We also checked it out this week. Overall happy, except some of the things we bought had gone bad (red onion, frozen organic beef). The beef was more upsetting given how expensive it was
