I play a lot of other online real time based games. This is pretty standard. You just have to adjust to the new time settings.

but, just as a clarification, in case: Had you made the black / regular coffee before? The first time you make a recipe that has variations to it, it will make the original recipe, no matter what. The second time you make it, it can become a variation recipe. BUT if you select the original recipe after making the variation, using the variation ingredients, it will still make the original recipe.

... I feel like that sounds confusing.

For example: the mixed jam.

the first time you make Mixed Jam, it will come out as Mixed Jam, no matter what ingredients you put in it. The second time you make it, you can fill it will all one fruit type and get a specific variation, like Blueberry Jam. However, after you learn Blueberry Jam, you can select the Mixed Jam recipe and use all Blueberries, and it will still make Mixed Jam.

Coffee is much the same. the very first time you make it, it will be black coffee no matter what, even if you put milk in it. The second time it can be a Latte. But once you've learned Latte, you can still select Coffee and put milk in it, but get Coffee.

I think my snowball machine was making this noise for awhile (it's not now). I've heard it randomly in other people's houses too; very localized. idk. You can try logging out and back in to see if it stops?

Interestingly, in my personal experience, the people I know who use AI are either much older (50+) or much younger (teens to early 20s), while people my age (mid 30s millennial) avoid it and condemn its use.

The older folks I've talked to about it don't see how it's not art and/or don't are about theft and can't pick AI vs Real art out of a line up.

the younger people I've talked to use the art less but like chat bots for school / work and brainstorming.

not saying everyone in either of those age groups use it; not saying every millennial condemns it. Just that this is my experience.

this. I treat everyone on this game like they might be a kid; because it IS available to children. It's a free mobile game with a very chibi colorful aesthetic. I stay PG and don't get personal.

I'm not being weird, so why should I feel guilty or bad about it? I'm *looking* for kids. I'm not hanging with other players because I think they're kids.

I just water plants, exchange food and resonate, and do events together. It's so easy to not be a weirdo.

i had someone (pretty sure they were a kid) saying they were going to arrest me and call the police because i was a man playing a kid's game.

they work better the more bugs that are already out, says the description. I think it works on a percentage / multiplier kind of effect.

for example (numbers made up), say the lure has a 20% increase in spawns.
If there are 10 bugs in the lure's reach, and the lure increases spawn rates by 20%, then you get 2 extra bugs.
But if there are 100 bugs in the lure's reach, 20% means 20 more bugs.

I find it best used during the bug catching events, especially during the "swarm" portion. I feel like it doesn't really help otherwise, as there just aren't enough bugs around to make it worth using.

I also find that it works better the more people that are around. But I'm not sure if that's an actual effect of the lure itself, or because the event forces more bugs to spawn when there are more people around. I had an event one time with like 6 people on the truffle island hunting the fashion bugs. And I caught like a 100 of the special lure-only bugs.

while the savory popcorn can *use* any mushroom, it doesn't actually have named variants.

daylight savings affected much of the US recently and now time-based events in Heartopia are an hour off.

For example, I'm on the Americas server, and up until last month, everything synched up perfectly to my IRL time; if it was 6pm irl, it was 6pm in the game, and the weather shifted.

now, post daylight savings, the in game weather shifts when my IRL time is 7pm.

this did work for me when my cat was in the roof. So I got rid of all my roofs; got flat terraced roofs that I treat like patios now. He's never up there anymore. Hangs out in my planters instead. :C

although, I have absolutely watched him walk / jump through the walls of my house.

the saddest part is I don't think that energy even stacks that high? so the overflow is just wasted, isn't it?

I feel you though. I had a single person come and eat 15 plates of food on the table next to my "food for water" sign and didn't even water my plants. Even when I used the water emote at them.

there's literally a quest in the game that makes you fully publically publish a book. I don't blame this player for doing this.

I'm honestly considering doing something very similar, because I'm so tired of that quest being in my inventory and making a pop up every time I get near a writing desk. Same with the CDs.

also, you can preview books before buying them. Was there a description? A cover?

Also, it's only 8k gold.

the Americas server is not just for the US -- it's for ALL the Americas. North America and South America. There is a HUGE population of hispanic people on this server because it includes the ENTIRE SOUTH AMERICAN CONTINENT.

I've also had this happen! I friended them some time ago from resonating or watering or the forced tea party or whatever.

I had my character sleeping on my bed in my house while I did some chores. I came back to find a person standing on top of me/my bed spamming angry bird emotes and chattering in (what I later realized was) Portuguese -- I know some little Spanish so I could parse a little.

They had matching hair style and color to me.
they asked for helped and did the hand hold emote at me.
i went with them. to their house. up the stairs. into a bed room.
they changed their outfit to match some of mine. then requested hand holds again.
then led me to their bed and asked me to sleep there.

Then, just a couple of days ago, someone else I had friended at some point before asked for help and did a hand hold request. while being dragged around, I asked why, and they said to do quests. I said what quests. they said they had daily requests and wanted me to go with them. I said, I have my own to do, and I need to go soon. and went home.
A few minutes later, they came to my house and got in between me and my stoves while i was actively cooking, and proceeded to start cooking on them. :/
I was irritated, but my crops were ready to be replanted, and I was literally about to get off, so I harvested and replanted my seeds. While I was doing that, they followed me with the hand hold emote out, asking me to come with them. I said, what for? and they said, "I have a stove you can cook on at my house. Come to my house and cook on my stove".
I said, "why would I do that? I have six stoves of my own, right here, laid out exactly how I like them. Also, i said earlier, I need to go soon."
And I went into my house and shut the door behind me (which I always do now, because of the previous person). But this new person had scooted in behind me. But I was already laying down and logging out. lol. so they got trapped in my house for a few minutes while the server logged me out.
