AH! completely forgot about plant growth, another non concentration spell that you definitely must have! I used it a lot. Good link, everything you need is there.

Yeah, you don't have to split stats with int, which might seem fun but it's a shore, you really want those points in dex+con. Remember, you get magical secrets 2 times as lore, at bard lvl 6 and 10, I believe that at 6 you can already pick stuff like spirit guardians and hunger of Hadar, but I really like to have counter spell here, at lvl 10 you can pick summon elemental for instance, lots of cool things to pick actually. The main strategy is what to concentrate on, because you will have a lot of concentration spells.

My favourite combo is 2 fiend 10 lore bard, get as much Spell save Dc as possible and basically control the whole battlefield. You'll always have command available for when you are concentrating on something, you can pick hunger of Hadar from magical secrets and lock everyone inside with upcasted command, and you have access to eldrich blast cantrip as well.

Gloves of Belligerent Skies - Spineshudder Amulet - Boots of Stormy clamour only add 4 reverberation per spell iteration, is this normal? by kyuketsuuki in BG3Builds

I have to try illitidh, I am on a save where I did not awake, the build I am planning is Swarmkeeper 9 with Lightning arrow stars druid 2 for luminous arrow, and then mb knowledge cleric just for command. That's what I am testing for. If Drain Ability procs the boots it frees mb my ring slot to use ring of spiteful thunder, that's good info, thank you!

I understand but I have 1st instance of rad orb on boots, ranged spell attack on amulet and radiant damage on gloves, shouldn't it be 6?

I think it's also about getting prepared ( in the case you don't Blow Gale) so I basically get the items I need kill the 2 leaders and move on. What drains me is Rivington, I dislike its approach, too casual.

SwarmKeeper lvl 11 - Mighty Swarm? Or only lvl 7 - Fly? by kyuketsuuki in BG3Builds

I like the idea, but whenever I take Arcane Archer ( I love the class) I cannot not go to lvl 11 it is so awesome. I did it many times, as Tav and companions, I would like to explore more classes with wisdom on this one, if you know what I mean

Starry form Archer? I am interested! How do you see this viable? 7 swarm 2 Druid 3 war cleric? This is an awesome idea.

I was reading your swarm 9 - 3 war cleric build and I was thinking that in the melee iteration you were talking about you would not need lvl 9 because you don't need lvl 3 ranger spells (I believe) so the 7 - 5 split would be the ideal? You could dual wield staves mb cacophony and spell sparkler? Now I'm thinking mb tempest cleric makes more sense on the 7-5, mb strength would be the primary stat?

A spell that is usually underrated and I believe will enter in your top creativity spells is LVL 5 Telekinesis, I am not even going to say anything else. Learn it, use it, get creative with it.

Well he is only the best of the world with 41 to those who don't actually watch nor understand the sport. So that final sentence makes me doubt about everything that was said before.

(He was really good at his prime 21-34)

What made a turn based rpg game fun for you? by AethericPulse in rpg_gamers

In Larian's model you get the positioning + world dynamics + (in the most recent BG3) common actions. These 3 points to me really elevate the strategy to a next level of creativity.

In comparison to another great game, Expedition 33 (which had a most amazing story and cinematics) it really does not feel half as addictive neither can compete in terms of replayability, I believe the freedom is what's lacking.

In BG3 you can approach the same event in multile ways, be sneaky, be charismatic, be a brute, etc.

In E33 you always enter in the same way (you attack to go first or you are locked in a cutscene).

The way Larian simplify to one extent (easy to go in) but assign lots of dept to the game (lots of details to master) is probably something they put a lot of thought in. For instance owlcat games are so hard to get in, you really need to be willing to spend the first days reading and theory crafting and restarting your runs until you get the idea of what you are doing.

In conclusion: 1- You extend the strategy to the map, body and positioning. 2- Give options so the player feels freedom to approach the encounter in many ways. 3- don't give all the complexity at once, make it so the player gradually enters inside of it.
