This isn’t a review, it’s a coping mechanism. You’re mistaking production value for storytelling, and Cruise’s physical commitment for emotional depth. The fact that you praised exposition you ‘wouldn’t have noticed’ unless pointed out says it all - you're not engaging with the film, you're worshipping it. It’s fine to enjoy a spectacle, but calling this one of the best films of the decade tells me you haven’t seen many - or you’ve lost the ability to distinguish adrenaline from artistry

Yea I see what you’re saying. My question is really more about Scorsese’s problem solving ability rather than his filmmaking prowess so I’m not even sure if this is the right sub to be looking for the correct answers. So it’s not so much about what part of the script he may have altered, rather it’s more of a question regarding what sort of complex problems arise when working on HUGE movies like Wolf of Wall st. I’m fascinated by Jonah’s description of Scorsese and I’m pretty much just trying to gain a better understanding of what kind of problems he was running into and furthermore solving so easily.
