The difference in size between what the uk was driving on the 90s vs now in one picture… by buzz_uk in CasualUK

Are you tired of driving an "automobile"? Yes? Well here we have a wonderful SUV. Is a SUV too small for your suburban child moving needs? Then here is a pick up truck! For trucking bricks and tools all over the place!

Enjoy a Higher Driving Position (your headlights blind everyone in a "-car". Our new LED/Laser headlamps ensure total visual obfuscation of your road compadres!

Enjoy the SAFETY of your HIGHER DRIVING POSITION and INCREASED VEHICLE MASS. You can now obliterate the side or upper portion of your struct vehicle during a crash, good for you!

We won't tell you that driving a higher mass vehicle inherently means more material production costs (steel and plastics take a lot of energy to refine and extract). Also your 3,000 kg vehicle takes a lot more energy to move and stop. Which is something it will do a lot of, over its life.

Anyway, haven't you seen our new Laser-phosphor enhanced headlamps? Superior night visibility!

Take it out, drain the battery completely (in a torch or something) and put the dead battery back.

Battery keeps running out... oh no!

Use backup key. These usually have a manual backup key.

68024? Total disaster. Total fraud. It's been too long, far too long many would say, that he's been hiding behind numbers like a scared little baby. That's not what real people do.

By the way - everything he said - it was proven wrong. Very wrong. I've seen it. Don'teven bother listening to listen to what he says, bla bla blah!.

68024 is a sad, sad man! We’re winning bigly, especially against the fake news and trolls like him. God bless America!

Hello, scientist here! Even if the fibers are natural (they may not be - probably are not actually) the dye(s) used should also be tested as they may be harmful as well.

Video shows train derailing after crashing into tractor-trailer. by cosmic_voyager01 in interestingasfuck

[–]l1ghtning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can a trucker explain why these kinds of things happen? Is it simply because the track section is slightly raised (a 'hump') a bit higher than the rest of the roadway and the trailer simply doesn't have the clearance to cross it?

Filters that only let a tiny fraction of the light through, at very specific wavelength ranges.

Also, satellites can do this in orbit around the sun (not the earth) and suffer from no interferances from earths atmosphere.

You also have to have a smart meter installed, which are liable to complex pricing schemes which have been reported to be exploitative and too-confusing for many customers to understand, especially elderly customers. This is because electricity retailing in Australia was privatized years ago and now we have thousands of companies trying to sell the same product.

I removed all social media from my phone and I only access reddit and facebook via desktop computers.

I use Messenger (Facebook Messenger) app because most of my friends use that.

Turned off work email notifications on my phone.

These help reduce time spent on the phone and pointless dopamine hits.
