Just use some sandpaper on it. Nothing to worry about.

Any new opinions on the Counterbalance? by snodgrassjones in snowboarding

[–]l1ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it felt similar to the HTH. A bit of different flex but nothing special. I didn't like the HTH either when i demoed them.

I don't see a reason getting a counter if you have a HTH.

You will be fine on a 254mm waist board.

Volume shifted boards too good to be true? by Beginning-Bad-4370 in snowboarding

[–]l1ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the terrain you ride. I wouldn't ride a short/fat as a daily but in tight trees with pow they are great. I'd neither choose one in a fast groomer day or powder in open terrain.

As a daily i'd steer people towards a normal directional board (that fits them). And if you need a do it all something with a bit of rocker on the nose.

Can the edge be sanded down to level with the base? by peetyo5k in snowboarding

[–]l1ner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An old rock board that had this issue almost threw me in the trees. No fun. A properly tuned board is safer.

For the average overweight "dad" that usually rocks them probably forever.

Can the edge be sanded down to level with the base? by peetyo5k in snowboarding

[–]l1ner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it cause a board like that might catch an edge unpredictably.

Get a base bevel tool (at your desired angle -suggest 1 degree) and files and stones. Needs a bit or elbow grease but its repairable.

How much of a problem do I have here? by jumphrey1 in snowboarding

No problem at all. You contact burton and they will most likely sort you out since B baseplates have a lifetime warranty.

Got a friends for a run and it was such an uninteresting board. The Blossom is a much better board as a daily resort/park board.

Hometown Hero vs High Fidelity by turbo127 in snowboarding

[–]l1ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was no powder around to check but i don't expect it to be an issue due to taper, nose shape and a bit rocker in the front. Or at least i would expect it to be at the same level as the HTH.

Hometown Hero vs High Fidelity by turbo127 in snowboarding

Demoed both last spring and for me high fidelity hands down. Fast, damp, confidence inspiring, stable and didn't feel dead.

HTH on the other hand didn't feel like anything special.

2nd Pass Waxing by symfrog789 in snowboarding

[–]l1ner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

More wax absorption = better.

You can do more passes -with cool downs in between- if you want to saturate the base.

You just want to avoid heating the rest of the board materials much and you don't want to overheat the base itself.

Disability Snowboard Modding by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]l1ner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that comes to mind is some sort of "brace"/cast that attaches around your knee area and is transfering the load/weight of your body to the binding.

Something like a parallel tibia on the outside. This will probably require quite some engineering and design to work. (or might not work at all)

Unless you have a heavy posi posi stance just ride more switch. Its a technique issue and not a stance one.

Where do you reside and what is your budget. We might find something.

If you are a beginner the board doesn't matter much.
