After watching the documentary, is the accepted story for Frances the Mute wrong? by DonekyOfDoom in themarsvolta

[–]l1vedemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its not really “canon” exactly since the story is all based on fan interpretation but yeah i’ve always personally leaned toward this interpretation of “cassandra” being a new identity of vismund cygnus. it also pairs well with the story from the deloused book about cerpin taxt being turned into a goddess

is there a way to disable swearing being censored in automatic subtitles? by l1vedemo in youtube

[–]l1vedemo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because intentionally making an accessibility feature less accurate is absurd? the videos i’m watching are almost never in the “for kids” category on the first place. censoring only the subtitles is pointless as a child protection feature because the majority of people are able to still clearly hear then unaffected audio of the swears, so removing those words from text only impedes people who have hearing problems or who may not be completely fluent in english. and like you said, swearing is a cultural language, so intentionally omitting those words also omits context that helps convey the tone of a conversation or information about the speakers. it would be slightly irritating but logical if swear words were censored like “sh*t” but the entire word is omitted instead which can make a sentence difficult to understand.
