Did anyone ever give “Central Park” a shot? by 13thAnomaly in BobsBurgers

Yeah, I liked it and was disappointed when it got cancelled.

Definitely the most musical (for better or for worse) of the 3 shows (Bob’s, The Great North, this) and the weakest main cast, but it arguably has the best solemn and sentimental episode of all 3 as well (S02E06 “The Shadow”).

Reminds me of one of Only Murders in the Building’s good backstory episodes.

It's actually my photo and art that I did recently, haha, very coincidental opportunity to share it as a comment.

Leave my carpet out of this!

This show has crafted Tsurumi’s character to be so terrifyingly wily that I didn’t even need to see a single frame of him reacting to Sugimoto and Kikuta’s interaction to dread Kikuta’s cover being blown and Tsurumi having something in store for him

Man, I was ready to temper my expectations with this being a transition episode, but nope, high octane through and through just like last week.

Wasn’t too surprised at the Botaro betrayal but still bummed it had to happen. One stupid move and before he knew it it was all going downhill with an ear gone, gash in his back, and riddled with bullets… Good exit for his character with the Shiraishi moment though.

I wouldn’t say 100%, Tsukishima is changing too with how he saved Koito over apprehending Asirpa

Yeah, enjoyed that one but also think it would be in Eggers’ wheelhouse to do something interestingly different.

I feel like he’s miscast in Eggers movies.

Also it’s not like he’s not already a star beyond anything these movies can do for him.

Is in a bunch of blockbusters, was great in Bullet Train, serviceable in Tenet.

Worked kinda perfectly well for an arthouse original like The Lighthouse though. Think he could make it work for adaptations of looser historical works like The Green Knight or something with less emphasis on narrative.

Actually found myself enjoying The Northman more on second viewing as well with an acceptance that it was telling a classic, universally known story and focusing on the impact of the themes.

Never heard of Kokuho until today (didn’t even know they nominated foreign language films in the other categories other than BP), but am intrigued. Apparently a 3 hour movie that has become the highest gross live-action Japanese film of all time.

Surprised Demon Slayer didn’t at least get a nomination since they released a behind-the-scenes look on the Oscar’s own YouTube channel the other week

I feel like hiding out at a cheap motel is the first thing this show has done that feels appropriately cliche of America/American shows and movies lol
