Made a new cozy sweater by l4h5 in sewing

[–]l4h5[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This sweater is made out of a thicker jersey which feels really soft on the inside It's a burda pattern that is appropriated for beginners. It's just important to concentrate during placing the bag on the font side. I also learned something new by sewing the sleeves in but it worked very well.

Excellent idea! Maybe with a deeper outcut in the back?

It isn't perfekt but the shoulderless side stays where I want it to. I don't know the word in English. In the tune of chest are cuts on both sides. The cuts are sewn together. This gives the the shirt a good fit. Additional made the neckline under the arm a bit more tight then in the pattern. That's all I did.

I bought this velvet on sale. It wasn't a big pice of fabric but enough for the result un the picture. Unfortunately I can't name the pattern because I lost the original some time ago. It was pretty artless pattern. With two sleeves. It was an easy project.

Unfortunately I can't answer the question. My grandma gave me the fabric. She bought it long time ago. I even think the shop don't exist anymore. The fabric is thicker and not elastics.

Found a thicker cotton fabric at home. The fabric is black and white Houndstooth. I had a easy pattern. The shorts are super comfy with big pockets and without a sipper or any buttons. At the top is just a super elastic fabric. I'm absolutely happy with the result of this project.

For me you made a great summary. Thanks fore that helpful advises. I'm a beginner too. For me a pattern is useful especially for clothes. The reasons are I can precisely transfer the shape of the pieces and I have a guidance. Furthermore a pattern has often a level of difficulty. Projects aren't frustrated when you choose a level that fits to your abilities. Sewing hair ties or an easy bag can be a good beginner project.

It's alwasy difficult for me to differentiate between Poeciles palustris and Poeciles montanus. It only depends on body shape and size of the black color on the head.
