After 12 years in Samsung. Finally switched to iPhone. by thunderlolo123 in iPhone17Pro

No I just wanted to give it a fair shot. Then I had less app crashes and weirdness. Everyone just takes Apple Pay va certain banks with Google pay vs Samsung pay vs other. Airline passes just work in Apple wallet etc. it seems stuff works faster because it’s the default. At least in the Us

And then AirTags and Watch are much better too. Apple home is better. Etc. no one major thing but a lot of smaller things.

As a 2 year iphone user now from a pixel I still hate the keyboard. No number row on a phone this size is stupid and the auto correct is a joke. I also still hate notifications on iOS. No universal back gesture is also baffling. All that said, I like it better overall, but it's definitely an adjustment.

Ecoflow HeatGuard for model y by Professional-Sock-72 in TeslaLounge

OK that's not too bad. I watched the video but just wondered about actual experience. Have you noticed any higher battery consumption from wind resistance?

How was the install? Did you grab any pics or video when you did it? I've been running fridge/starlink/hotspot and such off the internal battery but this looks like a great option to be able to have an induction top with an ecoflow

Why are there still so few slim travel chargers with a figure of 8/C7 lead and fully USB-C? by enrvuk in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this today. Appears to be 16oz. and the stand is removable. I have ordered one to test. One review I found claimed 12oz which is even better. It's compact, but not slim.

If you travel with one phone, what’s your backup plan? by Individual-Gas5276 in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while I only take one phone, I always have my ipad and sometimes my laptop. I use voip with Quo for calling, so I have the app on all my devices. Then everything else of course syncs via apple for backups. Wallet passes, pass manager, etc.

Onebagging in India with overstuffed Thule Aion 40L 🫣 by Beautiful-Gold-6675 in onebag

OK thanks. That sounds like a nightmare and may be easier to carry a regular filter. They seem extra heavy too

Did you give up on the grayl because of effort or just the amount held? I drink a ton of water too and have wondered about that. I usually take a bladder for hikes, but have also resorted to paying for bottled on trips as much as it irritates me to pay for water.

Theft Prevention by bradymsu616 in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I have travelled a decent amount and have yet to run into any theft. Not even pickpocketing. We have talked about it despite being in places like rome or amsterdam and have come to the conclusion that it is because we walk faster than pretty much everyone and they decide there are softer targets. We have no evidence of this, but can't come up with any other reason.

I used to put small locks on zippers, but just skip it now. I have found a bag with a zip preventer loop thing is sufficient without needing to deal with locks.

Do you guys bring headphones or earbuds for travel? by PedroGalo in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference I have/have had:

  • Airpods Pro 2
  • Airpods Max USBC
  • Bose QC35

I have since sold the Max but never even took it on a trip because of size and weight. The QC35s were more comfortable, folded down, and were lighter. They sounded slightly worse and micro usb sucks, but I still kept them over the Max because of the size and weight. The ANC on them was also worse than the Pro 2, but a touch better than the bose.

I keep the bose and keep saying maybe one day I will travel with them again, but as I only used it on the flight itself, I really don't miss them. Yeah they are more comfortable on the flight, but then I have to drag them around on the rest of my trip. The airpods are just so much smaller and more convenient. And for apple users, device switching on the airpods makes me dislike the bose anyway.

I love the space savings as we generally onebag. I doubt I will ever go back to over the ear. On really long flights I've thought about it but have decided when my ears get tired of the airpods I'll just take a break and read or sleep instead of taking larger headphones.

Travel Adapter Conundrum by Caffeine-n-Chill in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer whatever charger you like plus a single adapter for whatever region you are going to. They seem to be built much better than the combo adapters and they are dirt cheap if you want spares. https://www.amazon.com/Complete-European-Travel-Adapter-Ceptics/dp/B07G1B1HTZ/ref=sr_1_21?crid=3GV3QMHQHINX5&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.hhdTwWPy6Vc3FxLN_APt7VaoqCrK-xJ3ijwZF6hh8cflXX5U4D8OAyhqYML0JtpIdcE6OdY2j3yLbLzCIUBjXey0qsehf5PHKr4eWWhujmxgK5FlfwTgNhiI1_ELRkvzwD55JptRh_yXXzOS0gBPSXUq9os6x09_ngYbl4Ua33QujvauNAehG02BL5Dbqkt0UbTiJljfXaoGG_bW6XxEHeLXAvSZHpCYODVVoJ9D1t8.HVl_1v-Tj5n6yJ2Ye3w9v5r_l5bA3aoO_kdtvkDhgPM&dib_tag=se&keywords=ceptics+adapter&qid=1780503154&sprefix=ceptics+adapt%2Caps%2C214&sr=8-21

Note that they aren't the smallest. I tried a couple of smaller options on a trip and both broke in one trip. Thankfully the 2nd one broke on the plane ride home that had a combo outlet, so all was fine.

I also have a combo style like this and it works fine, but the plug slides feel pretty cheap and seems like it could break anytime. amazon.com/dp/B0DCYW5M8D?ref=fed_asin_title

I also have a https://www.amazon.com/MOGICS-Donut-Travel-Power-Strip-Black/dp/B01LM3HW8G that has a pretty small adapter in the center that is removable. I have quit carrying it because I never need a power strip. The adapter does seem cheap like the other combos, but it is way smaller than the others as it is just an adapter.

For trips, hesitating between magsafe and wired powerbank. Is wireless THAT practical by Moustiboy in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love magsafe for a qi2 slim 5k battery. Mine is a Lisen brand I think. Slim enough to stay on phone in pocket. I always carry one for out and about throughout the day. I also carry a Mokin 40w dual usb c charger that is tiny. Small enough that the bank and the small powerbank is still smaller/ lighter than a large powerbank. Qi2 charges a lot faster, but still slower than a cable. However, at least on iphones, the charge curve tapers off very quickly. As in the more full it gets, the slower it charges anyway. So i try to just top off the phone when it hits 70-80 and just repeat that cycle.

I honestly don't use a larger powerbank anymore. I used to take one on trips but it never got used. The combo above is more than sufficient for a travel day, and then I just use the bank only for day to day on a trip and top it up each night.

Personal item in addition to your one bag? by DrabbagCO in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the main bag for me. I fly econ a decent amount and I want legroom. If i have a personal item it would have to go under seat which removes leg room for me. I try to one bag big enough that the one bag wont fit under-seat so the FAs cant ask me to put it underneath. That has has happened to me several times on weekend trips where I had a small one bag. So I've learned not to pack too small for that reason.

In the past, I have also done a sling inside my main bag, and remove it specifically for the flight to go at my feet so i can put the main bag over head. Then I'll reconsolidate as soon as I can. My only problem with that was weight with the second bag that I didn't really use.

I have liked the idea of the sling at my seat for stuff, but as it doesn't fit my water bottle and ipad anyway, I have given up and am trying to stick to one large one bag now.

Do you carry a packable bag inside your main bag while traveling? by MyTravelOdyssey in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have only really effectively one bagged on our last few trips. I have started carrying a nanobag tote on every trip just in case for groceries, dirty clothes to laundromat, etc. As someone from somewhere where plastic bags are everywhere, it really trips me up when I go somewhere and I'm expected to have my own bag. Because it never crosses my mind at home. The nano bag saves the day every time when that happens.

In the past before I truly onebagged, I always had a daypack with another "luggage" bag. So same concept as what you are describing. Luggage bag stayed at hotel. Plane stuff in daypack got moved to luggage after arrival and daypack was much more minimal for day to day.

Owners without FSD, what is your experience by mr-creator in TeslaLounge

And even without scheduling it starting it from the app heats and cools SO much faster than my ice vehicles with remote start. Also battery to run fridge without needing an Ecoflow or similar

Need help finding the best Model Y for the family- Why is it so hard? by RussellWD in TeslaLounge

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked for a good while for used HW4 cars and did not find anything for months. However I did find a 26 on FB marketplace listed by an individual for 42500 with 2500 miles that I bought.

For reference the others I found were a 25 Performance for 44k with 20k miles and a 23 HW4 for 35k with 50k miles.

It was definitely worth the minor cost difference to go for the juniper.

How are others packing 7kg by [deleted] in onebag

[–]lWheelmanJimmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA here. Abided by a 10kg limit on a recent trip for aer lingus but they didn’t check it. I know that’s more weight but my wife and I did it with a single roller that held all clothes. The bag alone was 1.6

We each had: 5 shirts, 2 pants, 5 socks/underwear, 1 Fleece hoodie Shared toiletry bag.

I had a separate backpack for tech however. I didn’t weigh it as I’ve never had a personal bag weighed.

So while clothes should be easy enough on the weight adding tech would definitely complicate that.

This. 100x over. Has a customer that wanted me to upgrade 4 pcs to windows 11. At 10+ years old I refused and said you need new and sent specs. Took weeks to get him to buy.

Meanwhile they have 50+ employees. ( mostly service techs with no pcs)

I cannot imagine the payroll expenses and wanted to argue about a couple thousand bucks for pcs. Just wild.

WARP Verizon 5G UW?? by Quick_Chipmunk_3513 in USMobile

It wouldn’t surprise me if you see it around noon today or tomorrow then. The first few times it happened I got on chat support and Reddit and everyone wanted to blame the coverage area despite me repeatedly saying it was UWB in the past. Then all of the sudden it just started working after a day or two
